Vehicle Detail
Vintage Classic Black Honda 305 Dream CA77.One of the most reliable models of motorcycle ever made. Bullet proof engine and transmission. In excellent running condition. Starts easily. Runs very smoothly. Excellent daily driver.People stop me all this time, and ask about this bike where ever I go with it. Its unusual fender design, frame, and square headlight make it a real head-turner.Currently being driven several times a week on sunny days, so the mileage of 18XXX may not match the odometer reading in the photos exactly. After filming the movie, Rostabout, Elvis Presley bought a Black Honda 305 Dream like this. It still owned by the Elvis Presley Foundation, and currently on museum display in Memphis. To see photos of Elvis' Honda 305 Dream: just Google: Elvis Honda Dream Mikes Photos. The bike not only looks great, but sounds good, too.The engine has a full set of new Genuine Honda piston rings, so runs with nearly as much power as when it was new, 49 years ago.The low center of gravity makes for good stable riding, and the seat height allows for someone with shorter legs to reach the ground easily when stopped at an intersection. I am 5 Ft.-10 In. and find it an ideal height and size for me.I'd be happy to show this motorcycle to you, start it up, but to discourage thrill riders, please don't expect to drive it yourself unless you arrive with cash in hand. I have the valid Iowa title in my name and current registration in hand. The story of the reliability of the 1960s Honda 305 engines is legendary. As the reputation of the reliable Honda 305s became more well known, the popular Hondas took sales away from the mechanically unreliable oil-leaking British bikes of the day: BSA, Triumph, and Norton, driving the British bikes to the brink of bankruptcy. By the late 1960s annual production of Honda 305s had exploded to 10 times the production numbers of the early 1960s, giving Honda the financial ability, and a solid reputation for reliability, that allowed Honda to then begin manufacturing automobiles.I am clearly sold on what good bikes these old Hondas were, and still are. I hope you will love and enjoy this bike as much as I have. Low reserve and a steal for an enthusiast.
