Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for sale is my 1967 Chevrolet Camaro which I'm listing again with a lower reserve. This is not a race car...just a very well built cruiser. I've owned this car for 22 years, finished it with all the best performance parts available and love to drive it around. Originally a 327 2bbl car with a 4-speed and a deluxe interior, I started collecting parts for it in high school and drove other cars around while I tore this one apart and restored it bit by bit. Honestly though, my tastes have changed over the years and I'm looking for something different. The body was restored 10 years ago. The restoration included new quarter panels, trunk extensions, wheelhouses, rockers and new inner fenders. The quarter panels are full quarters with factory seams. The front end was converted to a rally sport front end using original ‘67 rally sport parts and electricals. A 1968 SS stripe was added along with a steel ‘69 cowl hood and new paint. The car was originally Gold , so it was redone in gold (although a different hue). The front end was rebuilt with polyurethane bushings from PST & a set of 1" lower springs with a progressive rate. Subframe connectors and a PST sway bar were added too. In the rear, new springs 1" lower than stock and competition engineering traction bars were added. KYB shocks all around. Although there were less than 75,000 miles on the odometer, the whole drivetrain was replaced after the body restoration was completed. The new drivetrain has just over 20,000 miles on it. The rear is a Currie 9" with nodular iron housing and big bearings. It also has a Detroit true-trac limited slip with 3.50 gears and 30 spline axles. The front brakes are Baer Racing's 13" street setup, with Currie's 11" Ford drums in the rear. The rims are Centerline Torq-thrust 2's with BF Goodrich g-force Sport Comp-2 performance tires, 255-60R16 in the rear and 225-55R16 in the front. The steering box is an AGR quick ratio power steering box. The engine is a GM Performance Parts ZZ502 crate motor with a Holley Commander 950 pro fuel injection setup on top. The clutch is a Centerforce housed in a Lakewood scattershield. It connects to the Keisler built Tremec close ratio 5 speed transmission with .82 overdrive and a Hurst shifter. The clutch and transmission are rated to withstand over 600 ft-lbs of torque. The motor is rated at 502 HP and 500 ft-lbs of torque. It breathes through a set of Hooker Headers into Torque-tech 3" pipes and Walker Dynomax high flow mufflers. The interior is a stock 67 camaro deluxe interior , including the original door panels and steering wheel. The old console gages have been replaced with Auto Meter Phantom gages and a Summit tach was attached to the steering column. The car has a factory tachometer that along with the original speedometer fill out the gages. A Sony 50 watt CD player/head unit controls a USA made SoundStream 204 amplifier powering a set of 10" woofers & two Infinity 6x9's in the rear as well as two Pioneer 5" speakers in the front kick panels. The front seats are from Arizen and covered in ‘69 black & white houndstooth, while the rear seat has a ‘68 black & white houndstooth cover to match. The glove box was removed for a place to put the computer that controls the fuel injection & ignition along with a kill switch for convenience and safety. This car is currently registered, insured and inspected and could be driven anywhere. It gets a respectable 13 city & 17 highway gas mileage. It starts easily and drives excellent. The steering is tight and responsive. The car stays flat in the turns. With the low first gear and a light foot, your grandmother could drive this car to the grocery store and not even know it had over 500 HP. Push the pedal down though, and the Wideband O2 sensor richens up the mixture and sends you moving like a rocket ship. The paint is the worst part of the car. While it still shows well, it has stone chips, scratches and dings (see pictures) from being driven regularly during the spring, summer & fall months, and an oops with the workbench in the garage. The horn doesn’t work (have traced it back to the column) & there’s a small trunk leak from the rear window molding that is lifting in the corners. I've included pictures of all the cosmetic imperfections, which although minor, reduce the value of the car since it is not show quality and could use a repaint. I will gladly send more pictures to anyone interested. As you can see, this car was put together right, using all the best components. Everything except the horn works, including the rally sport headlights, heater and defroster, wipers and washers, turn signals and gauges, etc. I have a mountain of receipts for the car, as well as all the manuals for all the parts on it. I also have photos of the entire restoration process. This car is the best of both worlds...old sheet metal and a classic interior, with a modern drivetrain for modern handling and reliability. Please contact me with any questions or to request additional pictures. I'll respond to your inquiries as quickly as possible. I am a private seller, not a dealership. I do not offer financing. If you wish to finance the purchase of this car, please secure your financing prior to placing your bid. I'm not interested in trades. This car is for sale locally therefore I reserve the right to end this auction early. Thank you for your time, and bid with confidence on this sweet ride!
