Vehicle Detail
This is a Florida and garaged kept 1974 2002tii. Matching body and engine numbers. I am the third owner. Purchased it from a gentleman about one year ago in Fort Lauderdale, FL who owned it for about 35 years and also kept it in the garage. This car drives really well. I actually drove it from South Florida to North Florida, a 6 hour drive and no issues. Besides oil change and valve adjustments, I haven't really tinkered with it. My plan was to keep driving this ultimate driving machine for another 5-10 years and then do a complete restoration. Unfortunately, I am relocating out of country for a 3 year assignment and not sure if I should sell it (my wife says I should) or keep it in storage. So, this is your chance to own a pretty historic car. One of the main reason I bought this car was that it was extremely clean underneath since it's been out of the cold and salt elements. Prior to my ownership, it has had several upgrades during it's lifetime.Original Inka orange was repainted once about 18 years ago: In my opinion, the paint shows really well. The engine compartment wasn't repainted so you can see the difference. The paint has a deep shine to it. There are some small dents around the car.Late model genuine leather front BMW seats with rear upholstered to matched the front. The driver side is powered. :In my opinion, the seats are in good condition. It's a sports seat so it hugs you well. Momo steering wheelKugelfishcher mechanical fuel injectionNewer BMW Tii master cylinder: Not exactly sure when this was installedNewer ATE brake calipers with lines: Not exactly sure when this was installedNewer Ansa sports exhaust (Not exactly sure when this was installed but I had my muffler guy look at it and sealed any leaks between header to tip) 5 speed 320i transmission conversion: it's great to have the 5th gear on the freewayNewer injection pump beltBilstein sport shocks all aroundK&N type cold air fliter: I purchased an orginal air filter holder but haven't installed yet. Will give with the car.Ireland engineering Trunk Mounted Kit with newer batteryHella headlightsHella fog lightsOriginal radiator modified with 4 coresNew 4 tires (installed them last November 2013)New radio: I have the Blaupunk if you want but it wasn't working. So, I just installed a cheap radio until my restoration project startedNew signal switch: the turn off piece was broken so I bought a new one and installed.New wiper switch: Since I was installing a new signal piece, I figured I should replace the wiper switch. I have the original if needed. The issues I see:Engine is leaking small amount of oil. I haven't really addressed it yet since it is small amount. I figured I would get to it eventually.Don't think the heater works. The fan definitely doesn't work. Haven't had the chance to investigate the real issue. The AC does work. The Tii Clock does work! It could be off a minute or two but definitely works. Not an issue but I figured I would disclose this as well.Speedometer works but it's off by 10mph or so. All other gauges works.Headliner has a small holeThe black exterior trim molding could be replaced at some pointThree small cracks in dashSmall dings outside the carSmall paint cracks on paint below the front triangle windowThe doors do lock but hard to unlock so I just keep it unlocked What I would do next:Do a complete tune-up of the car. This includes the engine and brake. Address the oil leak.Possible suspension upgrade. I like my car tight.Fix the heater boxAt some point, restore the car to its original beautyIn all, the car has been fun to drive. I just went to the vintage in Winston-Salem and I would say that in comparison to what was showcased, my car would be around 6 from 1-10 scale and 10 being concourse car but this is only my opinion! I do have the original sale invoice as well. It was purchased for $7424.24 back in February 1975! I've been researching these cars for several years so please no low offers. I believe my price is fair. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours after accepting the price. If you have no feedback, please call in advance to discuss. I am also selling this car locally, so I have the rights to take down the e-bay listing prior to ending.
