Up for auction is my 1989 VW Cabriolet. Vin#WVWCA0150KK006005. Automatic. Base model, no A/C, manual steering and crank windows.Only 111K miles. Alpine White/Classic Plaid/Hounds tooth Interior. This car has spent most of its life in California and is RUST FREE. Transported to Manchester, CT in 2004. Never registered, and stored in a garage for nine years until I purchased in February of 2013. I have since restored this classic VW close to it's original mechanical and cosmetic state. It looks stunning and drives beautifully. I have the CA title and a clean CarFax report. Here is list of parts and work performed: Exterior: • Complete paint job. All lights, lenses, and most trim removed. Surface prep/primer/sand followed by 3 coats Alpine White (PPG Deltron) and 4 coats of PPG Deltron Clear Coat. Wet sand 1000/1500/2000/3000 grit then machine Buff/Polish/Ultrafine polish using 3M Perfect-It products. The finish is deep and super smooth but not perfect as I missed filling in a few minor dings. • All new or restored emblems and trim. • New door handles, antenna,wipers gas cap, stone guards/side skirt gaskets, water deflector... • Completely new Haartz Canvas Convertible Top/Headliner/Horsehair padding/all hardware and and rear window gasket. Interior • Original interior is in excellent condition • New Radio (have original as well) and all speakers. New radio has hands free speaker phone with mic built into the dash (see photos) • New cigarette lighter and rear view mirror. Engine • Timing belt service with new belt and tensioner • New Fuel Injectors • New spark plugs, ignition wires/coil, distributor cap/rotor • New battery • All new filters (oil/air/fuel) and oil change. Cooling System • New radiator, water pump, thermostat and most hoses. Fuel System • New Main and Transfer Fuel pumps • New Relay • New fuel filter.
