Vehicle Detail
Up for sale:'64 Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback. It has a 473ci Big Block Ford with a C6.This car did high 12's in the 1/4 on street tires, and out of tune. A bigger carb, removed mufflers, tuning and slicks should easily see the high 11's, its not just a pretty face. The first picture and the burnout picture are old pics the rest were taken on 6-19-14 Body:Body is probably one of the cleanest original bodies you'll ever find. -No rust through or patches anywhere on car. -Most or all of what you see is original faded paint. Guys pay thousands to get this look and its natural here. -This is a desert body so: -Rear quarters, No Rust-ever -Trunk Floor, No Rust-ever -Doors, No Rust-ever -Front Fenders, Just Minor surface Rust on top from paint fading off, -Rocker Panels, No Rust -Floor Pans have some rust pin holes because the window seals dried out and water got in. Also the floor hump was modified to clear the C-6 Trans. -Roof, Has surface rust-someone prior to me removed the vinyl top and didn't seal or paint the roof so it started rusting, most trim holes in the roof have been plug welded -Hood, Crites Fiberglass teardrop -Trunk Lid, Crites Fiberglass -Bumpers, Crites Fiberglass(Front never was installed but is included) -Has the the rare swing-away steering column Engine:473ci Ford (.060 over 460) -Balanced rotating assembly -Sealed power forged pistons-Eagle h-beam rods-Scat crankshaft-.585 lift comp cam-Milodon 9qt deep sump oil pan w/ windage tray-Meling Hi-pro oil pump-Holley hp 750 cfm/ carb works perfectly but is too small, should be 1050cfm to get this engines full potetional -Weiand stealth intake-Billet Hei distributor with all accel internals/supercoil-'69 Ford 429 small chamber heads built by a local speed shop. -Harland Sharp roller rockers w/ guideplates and screw-in studs. -Aluminum radiator with shroud kit and catch bottle. -Gm 1-wire alternator Motor cost over $8000 to build Exhaust: Crites headers w/3.5' collectors 3" exhaust with summit turbo mufflers (Sounds awesome!!) Transmission:- c6 , 11" stall converter and TCI full reverse manual valve body. Also has a heavy-duty trans cooler.Trans will either need to be rebuilt or replaced. Car is not drive-able. Suspension: -Has manual steering -Stock leaf and coil springs -Lakewood traction bars Rear end:-Narrowed Ford 9" with billet housing ends. (narrowed enough to center wheels in wheel wells)-Strange aluminum carrier-Detroit locker w/3.73 gears-Strange S/S 31-spline axels-Pan-hard rod Fuel system:-10 gallon aluminum fuel cell in trunk-Electric fuel pump w/ canister style filter-Fuel regulator Rear window not currently installed, was removed to begin body/paint work. Will come with new gasket and trim clips from Dearborn classics Although this is a great start it is still a project, this still has a single reservoir master-cylinder, could use some front suspension work/bushings ect. Speedometer needs different gear for transmission. and the thermostat gasket needs replacing. Transmission will need to be rebuilt or replaced, cannot be driven home, it does move forward and reverse under its own power and can be loaded onto trailer, but trans has problems, dosent want to shift from first to second gear. Although the body is exceptionally straight for a '64 it dose have a couple very small dings and the body needs painted. We have driven this car from Milwaukee area to St. Paul, Mn for the back to the 50's car show and it was unbelievable how many people said don't paint this car, and the number of people stopping by and looking at this car was simply amazing. Also a huge hit at the track, it takes everyone back to the good old days of drag racing. There's nothing that turns heads better than a big block ford with a big cam. Pics dont do the car justice, and I dont have a good quality video to let you hear what she sounds like but it sounds awesome! This car is sold AS-IS, for $6250 firm, no trades or best offers. $500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours. No shipping, buyer responsible for pickup of the car and full payment within 10 days. .
