Will be “historic” in 6 months, and will then be eligible for cheaper historic registration and insurance. VA Safety Inspection Cert, but not MD State Inspected. Please read the description fully and ensure that you can meet the obligations of this auction before bidding. This car is less than 20 years old and it has not been Maryland State Inspected, therefore it can only be sold to a non-Maryland resident. As is stated above, this is a NO RESERVE auction for a 1995 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas. It was one of Jaguar’s top of the line vehicles when it was new. This car does have the wear and tear that goes along with its age and mileage, but it is a beautiful, good-running car that would clean up nicely with some TLC. It has the stunning, sapphire blue paint, and factory alloy wheels. The big, 4.0L straight 6 cylinder engine runs well, and has plenty of power. It has good oil pressure and does not smoke or overheat. The transmission shifts through all of its gears normally, without any harsh shifts or slipping. This car cruises on the highway, with plenty of passing power, and a smooth ride. The brakes are strong. The suspension is OK, but feels like it is time for either shocks or ball joints in the front. There is a moderate whine from the power steering pump, but the fluid is full, so I assume that will need to be replaced at some point. The grey interior of the car has the typical wear and tear for the age and mileage. The dash and center console are in good shape, with no cracks. The headliner is clean and does not sag. The carpets are in good shape, but the driver’s footwell is a little dirty and could use shampooing. The leather seats have “spider web-like” cracks in the leather. The same is present on the center armrest and the door handles. The steering wheel and shifter knob are worn too. The center armrest is missing the cup holder. The driver’s door panel is loose at the bottom, and catches slightly on the doorframe. It probably needs some new plastic clips to attach it to the door properly. All of the power options work. There are power windows, mirrors, seats, sunroof, and power adjustment for the steering wheel that goes up and down, and telescopes in and out. Occasionally you have to use the switch on the passenger’s side to put the front passenger’s window up, so the driver’s side switch probably needs to have the contacts cleaned, or just be replaced. The gauges on the dash all work, and there are no warning lights showing. The A/C is so cold that you can’t keep it on the lowest setting long because you feel like you will freeze to death. The heater works, and the aftermarket Pioneer stereo/CD player works too. Cruise control is also present. One annoying thing is that the windshield wiper has only one speed – fast – so the wiper switch probably needs to be replaced. The exterior of the car is a beautiful, sapphire blue, but once again, it does show its age and mileage. There are little dings and scratches that are to be expected, and a few areas where the paint is a bit dull. There is some damage on the front, passenger’s side corner (see pictures), where the car scraped up against something, and some mild scraping on the rear bumper on the driver’s side. The back of the trunk lid has a small dent on either side of the license plate area, and the power antenna has been snapped off at the base. All of the exterior lights work properly. This would be a good car for someone that loves Jags, and doesn’t mind doing a bit of work on them. It retains the styling cues of the classic Jags, and has the great, straight 6 engine, but also has more modern features. No more messing around with inboard brakes, dual gas tanks, etc. This car is not a museum piece, it is a car that has been driven and used daily for the last 19 years. It has the wear and tear to show it, but in the right hands it could be cleaned up and brought back to its former, stunning glory. Also, this car is one year away from being eligible for cheap “historic” registration and insurance. I have tried to describe the car as best as I can, including all of the faults that I have found, but there could be others, and it’s British, so there will be others in the future. If you are enamored with British cars, but don’t have the budget for a new or pampered used model, then this is the car for you. If you don’t know anything about British cars, and just want a used foreign luxury car, then go get a used Lexus or Acura, this is not the car for you. Please read the description fully, examine the supersized pictures and come see / drive the car in person so that you can form your own opinion before bidding. I welcome bidders to come check out this car and test drive it, just please give me at least 24 hours notice that you want to come so that I can adjust my busy schedule. I am selling this car on behalf of my father because he does not use the internet. This car is owned by his small, used car dealership. Since this car is owned by a dealership, the buyer has the option of getting a 2-month temp tag, so that he or she can legally drive the car home. This car does have a VA safety inspection certificate that is valid until April 2015. I have never lived in VA, so I do not know if that stays valid when the car changes owners. This car is less than 20 years old, and has not been Maryland State Inspected, therefore it cannot be sold to a Maryland resident. If you are a Maryland resident, please do not bid on this auction. PLEASE READ: This car is less than 20 years old, and is not MD State Inspected, so it can only be sold to a non-Maryland resident. Payment is to be made in cash. Paypal and Bank Transfers are not cash, cash is physical, paper money. Buyer must have a valid driver’s license, and that must be presented at the time of pick-up. If you are a long-distance buyer and want to organize transport, you still must have someone with a valid driver’s license that can show up to deliver the cash payment and sign the bill of sale. A $100 deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction's end. This can be paid through Paypal. The remainder is to be paid in cash at the time of pick-up. Bidders with zero or negative feedback must contact me prior to bidding – I will delete your bids otherwise. Do not send me angry emails when you bid without contacting me, and then find that I have deleted your bids and blocked you from further bidding on the auction. This car is sold AS IS, with NO WARRANTY. Please examine the supersized photos, and contact me if you have any questions. Serious bidders are welcome to come see the car, just give me notice ahead of time so I can adjust my schedule. Since this car is being sold by a dealership, if on arrival for pick-up the buyer has a valid driver's license and proof of insurance, a 2-month temp. tag can be supplied at an additional cost of $35. Payment is to be made in CASH at pick-up. Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The car must be picked up within 1 week of the end of the auction.
