Vehicle Detail
This is a terrific car, a real pleasure to own and to drive. Like all the 1965 Daytonas, it was factory equipped with a Chevy 283 engine (Studebaker was going out of business and had run out of Studebaker 289 engines). This engine was rebuilt approx 2000 miles ago and provides a powerful, reliable ride. Dual exhausts give a pleasing, throaty growl. The Chevy engine has the advantage of ease of maintenance and ready availability of parts. The car is in great mechanical shape and is reliable enough to use as a daily driver, while being handsome enough to show --- see the photos. The car has gorgeous two tone pain in correct red with white roof. The exterior trim is generally in good condition. The interior is mostly original but the seat covers seem to have been replaced many years ago, although they are still in very good condition. The original AM radio works and is supplemented by an FM tuner in the glove box. This is an exceptional Daytona and you will look long and hard to find another that is nice and as driveable. Only ill health forces me to part with it. I am also selling my 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk and 1966 Ford Mustang convertible -- look for the listings on ebay.
