Vehicle Detail
This is a two owner car. This original owner purchased it new in December, 1971 from Cline – Moore Auto Sales, Rutherfordton, North Carolina. I purchased the car in May, 2006. The paint is original and in great condition, with just a few flaws. The interior is almost perfect, one small (1 inch) seam rip on the driver’s seat, but no other cracks or tears. The dashboard is not faded or damaged in any way. The vinyl top is in perfect condition, no cracks or tears, not even faded. Everything works including the heater and manual windows. The original AM radio and speakers work great. The tires are the fourth set ever put on the car. The original spare tire is still in place; never used. The original window sticker, sales/loan and maintenance documents are with the car, as is a 1972 Mustang sales brochure featuring this exact car as the centerfold. The only things replaced by the first owner were spark plugs, points, condenser, carburetor (Ford Motorcraft 2 Barrel), fuel pump, fuel tank (Factory was rusted and had terrible buildup inside of it, which is why the carburetor was replaced.), and brake master cylinder. Since purchasing the car I have had an after-factory AC unit installed that is operated through the original heater/defroster panel and vents. The water pump has been replaced; a brake job has been done. A cooling fan was added to the radiator. A replacement trunk liner has been installed. The exterior has been professionally detailed. I detailed the engine myself. The car had been in storage for over 20 years when I bought it. Through the years it was started regularly but not really driven. Since my purchase, I have driven it occasionally; usually to local car shows and Saturday drives. It is currently stored under car cover in my garage and is started/driven at least once a month. I have won several trophies at various classic car and Mustang club shows. This car is in incredible original condition and beautiful. I would be happy to answer any questions you have or take any pictures you need.
