What it's not: A ground-up concourse restoration that I'm selling because I need another project. What it is: A very nice 36 year old Fiat Sports Spyder that I bought for my wife in 1998 when it was a 20 year old car with about 98K miles. That's about 5K per year. She has driven it to work a couple of days a week during the short Seattle convertible driving season. It has 120K miles on it's original engine. That's only about 1500 miles for each of the 16 years we've owned it. It has most of its original paint that still shines up nicely. Where it has been re-painted it is a very close match but not perfect. With the limited driving and garaged winters there is no significant rust that I am aware of. It has all the little paint chips and minor dings you would expect from a 36 year old car. During the rainy winters it has provided many projects for me. It has a new CLOTH top 16 years ago at a cost of $800 that is still perfect! I have rebuilt the suspension, steering and brakes at a cost for parts of about $900. I installed polished Stainless Steel "early style" bumpers at a cost of $1100. I have new Rota 15" rims (13" are stock) with new Pirelli tires at a cost of almost $1000. Please notice the beautiful Carpathian Elm Burlwood dash that I have personally added, including the radio surround and console which are unique (priceless!). I have added an in-tank electric fuel pump which is unique to this car. It has had an electronic pointless ignition installed. It has a new EMPI Webber 32/36 carburetor, New Old Stock cast exhaust header, new stainless Magnaflow muffler, and complete new exhaust to connect them. Performance Apex in Renton, WA has just this last year rebuilt the 5 speed transmission, replaced the clutch assembly and throwout bearing at a cost of $2200. The carpet is brand new. As you see I have done much work on this car. I have clear Washington State title. If you are the successful bidder don't be naive enough to think there won't be many more projects for YOU to enjoy while you are enjoying the friendly attention you will get when you drive this car.
