Very Reliable! 1.6L Engine, Manual Transmission Great MPG: 21 city / 26 Highway Cold A/C, recent oil change and rear brakes Historic – cheap registration and insurance! Please read the description fully and ensure that you can meet the obligations of this auction before bidding. As is stated above, this is a NO RESERVE auction for a 1991 Mazda Miata. These are great little cars that have a great reputation. They are fun to drive, handle well, are reliable, cheap to run and cheap to maintain. Not many cars will give you more smiles per mile than a Miata. Owning one gives you all the perks of owning a british sportscar, minus the overheating, dodgy electrics, and cost of parts. Every person that drives one loves them. They are not only fun little cars for the average person, but they are proven in competition, being a favorite for autocross, and having their own SpecMiata SCCA series. On top of that, they get great gas mileage! I have been using this car as a commuter and weekend car for about 3 months. It is mechanically sound, and very reliable, and has never given me any trouble. I have a daily commute of about 20 miles that is ¾ highway, but have done plenty of country driving in the car as well. It has 114k miles on the odometer, which is not that much for one of these. I have had others with 160+k on them. The 1.6 liter engine runs well, has good oil pressure and does not overheat. It had an oil and filter change about 3 weeks ago. There is a small seep of oil from the valve cover gasket, but nothing major. It does burn a very small amount of oil each month. The clutch is strong, with plenty of life, and the manual transmission shifts through all of its gears normally without any grinding. The suspension feels good, and the handling is great. The brakes are also strong. New rear brake pads were installed about 2 ½ months ago. While the car is mechanically sound, the interior and exterior could use some work. The red paint is faded in places, and the trim piece that goes around license plate in the back is cracked (easy to replace). There is a small rust hole on each side in front of the rear wheel well, but no rust underneath. The windshield has a crack. The convertible top is in good shape and does not leak. The black interior shows some wear on the carpets and seats, and could use a good clean up. The driver’s seat has a small tear in it. The heater works well, and the A/C blows cold. The radio comes on but only plays static. The manual windows go up and down with no trouble, and all the lights and gauges on the dash work. There are no warning lights showing on the dash, but occasionally if you hit a bump in the road the “airbag” light will flicker on for a second. This would make a great summer car for someone, or a racecar. It is absolutely wonderful to drive. We have decided to put it on auction after recently getting a CLK320 convertible to replace it. I would say that this car is a bit below average condition because of the state of the paint and the interior, but mechanically it is sound and you could jump in it and drive it anywhere, and hardly use any gas in the process! This car is not in showroom condition, it has some faults, and I have described all of those faults that I have found, but it is a nice, reliable car. Please read the description thoroughly, examine all of the pictures and then come see / drive the car in person before you decide to bid. I welcome bidders to come check out this car, just please give me at least 24 hours notice that you want to come so that I can adjust my busy schedule. I am selling this car on behalf of my father because he does not use the internet. This car is owned by his small, used car dealership. Since this car is owned by a dealership, the buyer has the option of getting a 2-month temp tag, so that he or see can legally drive the car home. PLEASE READ: This car is over 20 years old, so it will be sold as a historic vehicle. Payment is to be made in cash. Paypal and Bank Transfers are not cash, cash is physical, paper money.
