1979 Suzuki GS

1979 GS850G Suzuki, shaft drive, four cylinder, 31,000 miles, needs work, will run but needs more work. I bought this bike thinking I could fix it up and use it for a rider but have decided to sell it. I bought a new battery for it, two new coils, new condensers, have a Hanes manual to go with it. The bike has K+N pod air filters, and some unknown brand of four into one exhaust and 1980 front disc rotors. I have a extra front tire to go with this bike, the one on it is dry cracked . This bike ran when I first got it after working on it a bit, the carbs were set way to rich, the carb adjustment were way off from where the book setting were suppose to be, but it ran good other than being to rich, now it will start but not run right. I tried to set the timing and carbs by the manual and it will run but is missing a little, think it needs new plugs. I took the carbs off and removed the float bowls and did a quick clean of just the parts that I could get to easily without disassembling the whole carbs. Any questions please message me. Also included with this sale is the stock air box, a set of 1979 front brake rotors, a set of brake calipers for a 1980 GS ; rectangular pads, and one caliper mount and a set of caliper mounts for a Suzuki with mounting holes on the lower legs that are further apart than the 1979gs... not sure what bike these mounting brackets are for, possibly a GS1000 ?On May-29-14 at 09:35:44 PDT, seller added the following information: This bike needs some work (tuning and tweeking) it has a good engine and will run for a long time to come, but don't think your going to start it up and ride away on it. The vacuum petcock will not shut off the fuel flow, it would when I first started working on it... so it will either need a new petcock or a rebuild. The carbs will need synchronized and possibly taken completely a part... I only cleaned the jets and bowl area. The timing will need to be set with a timing light. The valves will need to be checked to see if they need adjusted. As the description in this auction says "needs work, will run but needs more work" I don't have the time or desire to tinker on it anymore. This bike will make a good rider.
