For sale is a classic one owner 1983 Mercedes 240D. It runs and drives 100%, has a clean Autocheck and is being sold with no reserve. The 2.4L six cylinder diesel engine is still running strong with no smoke. It can be driven like it is or this is a good candidate for a bio-diesel conversion. The four speed manual transmission shifts smoothly with plenty of clutch. The steering, suspension and brakes seem good. No exhaust leaks. There is a brand new battery. The exterior is a glossy blue. The finish is in good condition considering the age. There are no dents but it is not perfect. There is a rust spot on the right rear wheel well and the front bumper has an issue (see pics). The jack points are not rusty which is unusual. The lights and lenses are bright without cracks. No windshield chips or cracks. The tires have about 30% tread (see pic). The interior is clean but not perfect. The seats are MBTex. The wood venier on the console has sun cracks. The power windows, locks and sunroof work fine. The cruise control doesn't work. The heat works but the AC might need a charge. It has the original Becker radio with cassette that work great. The seats are manual. We have driven this classic and have not found any mechanical drive train issues. Despite the miles, it still runs good. This one owner Mercedes is being sold by a Maryland Used Car Dealer.
