This car is less than 20 years old and it has not been Maryland State Inspected, therefore it can only be sold to a non-Maryland resident. As is stated above, this is a NO RESERVE auction for a 2000 Toyota Celica GT. This car runs and drives well, and has the legendary reliability of a Toyota product. These are good-looking, practical cars, and this one would be great as a first car or daily commuter. Fuel economy is rated at 23mpg city / 31 mpg hwy, so it is easy on the wallet as well. This car was previously female owned. This Celica has the 1.8L 4-cylinder engine. It runs well, it does not smoke or overheat, and the oil and coolant appear clean and normal. It does feel like it could use a tune-up, because sometimes when you put your foot down hard on the accelerator it bogs slightly before taking off. The transmission shifts normally through all of its gears, the brakes are strong, the suspension is firm, and the steering is precise. This car could use a good clean-up on both the interior and the exterior. The interior carpets are worn. The seats are still in good shape, but there is some fading of the upholstery, and the rear seat has a small cigarette burn on it. The power windows, power mirrors and radio all work, as well as all of the gauges on the dash. There are no warning lights showing on the dash. There are dual airbags for safety. The wipers and heater work, and most importantly, the A/C blows cold! Cruise control is present. The dash condition is good, but the ashtray lid is broken, and stays open, and the fascia around the heater knob is cracked. Both would be relatively minor repairs. Overall the interior needs a good, professional clean because it is a bit dusty and dirty. On the exterior of the car, the black paint has faded on the upward facing areas such as the hood, the upper edge of the body panels on the driver’s side, and the rear wing. All of the exterior lights work. There are small dings and scrapes here and there. There is some damage on the front, passenger’s side corner, but it appears limited to the body. There is no indication that any part of the suspension, etc. has been affected. The car handles and steers perfectly. It looks like the previous owner bumped something on that corner just hard enough to break the plastic bumper cover and put a small dent in the front tip of the fender. Rockauto has new replacement bumper covers for about $150. Alternately, it may be easy to find replacements in a junkyard, or on craigslist, since many people put aftermarket body kits on these cars and then discard the stock pieces. Overall, I would say that this car is in slightly below average condition. Mechanically it is sound, but the interior and exterior are both in need of some attention. However, this would still make a great car for someone, and a good cleaning and a few secondhand replacement parts would make a big improvement. I used it as a daily driver for about 2 weeks, and it drove well and never gave me any trouble.
