Vehicle Detail

Up for auction and your consideration is a 1965 Chevy Impala Super Sport. I’ve always wanted a classic muscle car so I bought this in the fall thinking I’d drive it all the time. I know next to nothing about cars but this one was super clean and I loved the way it looked so I went for it. I drove it 2 or 3 times in the fall, I didn’t drive it at all this winter because of the snow and road salt, and now that it’s spring I still don’t drive it cuz I’d rather be on a bike. I’ve driven this car maybe a handful of times and the furthest I’ve ever driven it is to the auto parts store about 5 miles away. Honestly I don’t think I’ve put 30 miles on it since I bought it. Never had it on the highway, never raced it or even really revved the engine. I never had a classic before so I almost felt bad about driving it, much less abusing it. Under the hood, the engine bay is clean and I don’t have any puddles of fluid on my garage floor or driveway and otherwise no evidence of any leaks. It has a 3 speed automatic transmission and a 327ci motor but I’m not sure if either are original to the car. The engine has a deep, throaty lope to it and the dual cherry bombs with sidepipes sound badass. I can see an Accel ignition, newer looking plug wires and dist cap, a newer looking alternator and a newer looking radiator fan. There is an aftermarket chrome air cleaner cover and chrome valve covers. Inside, the interior was refinished to original looking specs- headliner, seats, door panels, carpet, dash, etc and really look beautiful, like a 9.5 out of 10. The speedometer, odometer, tachometer, vacuum gauge, am radio, wipers, heater, gas gauge, headlights, running lights, brake lights, turn signals, interior lights, trunk light, oil pressure gauge, parking brake, door handles, window handles, horn, tilt-steering column, lighter, vents, glove box, amperage gauge, hi-lo beam switch (floor mount), hood latch, trunk latch, door locks, door handles and lock assemblies are all fully functional and fully operational. Underneath, the guy I got it from put it up on the lift so I could see the undercarriage to verify his claim of zero rust to the frame or any of the floors or trunk. Trunk has spray liner and new interior panels. On the outside, it looks as though the prior owner did some body work around both rear wheel wells and on the front of the driver’s side rocker panel before touch up painting and there are multiple, light scratches and imperfections to the paint on the whole. If you want to enter this into car shows you’d be on your way with a little bodywork and fresh paint. This is the original color. The two front tires are relatively new, the back ones still have a lot of tread but appear to be an older/nostalgic style. Wheels are Hooker chrome 15’s staggered wider in the rear- their chrome is great from 10 feet, slight imperfections when close up. 79k miles on the odometer. Comes with two sets of keys and car cover. Turn key car with plenty of power that shifts smooth, starts, idles, steers and stops like it should. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will respond right away. Happy to take more pictures if needed for decision making purposes. If you’re in York, PA come check it out in person and we can take it for a drive. I’m not pressed to sell this car but I would like to see it go to a good home. I have clean title in my name in hand. Contact me for VIN. Not accepting trades. This is an as-is auction with no warranty/guarantee. $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. Thanks for looking, good luck bidding. On Apr-28-14 at 06:31:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Have had about a dozen requests for pics, here they are: engine, trunk and badge. Just added this morning. Please feel free to email me with any other questions, comments or pic requests.
