This is a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that currently has about 133,500 miles on it. I purchased it last year with a knocking motor and subsequently installed the following parts: • Remanufactured 4.7l V8 engine ($2599)• New starter• New Bilstein shocks• All lift gate & hood shocks, a mirror, wipers, power door lock... basically the broke stuff• Used part-time Selec Trac NP242HD transfer case: this was a heavy duty option, using factory available parts. It replaced the full time NP247 transfer case that I didn't really like.• New front brakes (rotors and pads) It has the factory vari-loc (sp?) limited slip differentials, front and rear. The interior is leather with power, heated seats and a sunroof. The only known problems are a small spot of rust under the rear passenger door (see picture) and an AC system that seems to have leaked down over the winter. I put a can of R134a in it one month ago and the AC still works. I may have knocked something loose while removing the engine. The engine has decent power and will get over 20mpg on the highway with a light foot. This has been my daily driver since Christmas and I've put about 3,500 miles on the new motor. I actually like the vehicle but have too many cars and not enough motorcycles. The black paint looks a little worse in person as it has several chips and a few little dents... but overall, not too bad for the money.
