Up for auction is a stunning 1976 Mercedes 450 SL roadster. I recently purchased this car for my wife as retirement gift. My wife loves the car but tells me she would prefer a SUV so she car take her 4 Maltese dogs with her when she travels. The gentleman I purchased the car from had owned her for nearly 20 years and always took great care of the car. Mechanicals: The car runs out very strong and the transmission shifts perfectly. The engine is the original 8 Cylinder and runs great. She starts up with no smoke, noises, ticks rattles or shaking about . The car was recently serviced which included: new spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap, oil change, oil filter, air filter, complete transmission service, radiator flushed / new coolant added and all fluids topped off. The engine bay is in very nice condition and has new hood insulation padding kit. The battery is near new as well. New Tires! Electrical's: All exterior and interior lights work. Has all correct original gauges that are working properly. Interior: The interior has completely gone through about 2 years ago and looks just stunning!. The car sports new seats, new door panels, new full carpet kit, new Mercedes logo floor mats and a new rear cockpit surround. The dash looks just beautiful ( see photos ). All gauges are correct Mercedes and are in proper working order ( heck even the clock works). The car has a very nice after market stereo. Exterior: The car looks like new! The car was completely stripped down about 2 years ago and then had a very high end re-paint back in it's original color ( Signal Red - Mercedes paint code #568 ) and has always been stored indoors since then. There is absolutely no paint over spray on any of the trim as everything was removed prior to painting the car. All chromes is very, very nice and the bumpers look almost new. The rockers, jack points, front / rear dog legs, trunk are rust and damage free. The front valance, wheel arches, rear valance, doors, front hood and rear deck lid have not a single dent, ding or paint chip. All black side moldings and fender surrounds are in great shape and are deep black in color with no visible signs of fading or graying. All glass is in very nice condition and original Mercedes Benz stamped. The car still retains the original style wheels that look to be in very good condition. The tires are brand new with less than 500 miles on them. Trunk: The trunk looks just like new with a complete new carpet and panel kit installed. The car has a very nice full size spare with a new tire on it. The trunk also has the correct and original jack and tool kit. Soft Top / Hard Top: The soft top is in good serviceable condition. The hard top is in very nice condition as is the headliner. Books / Manuals: The car comes with all original books and manuals.
