This auction is for a 1998 Triumph Tiger. Its a beautiful bike but I have not been able to keep it running. I have cleaned the carbs 3 times now cleared the fuel jets and it runs great for a while. I let it sit for a while and it starts running rough again. I put new metzeler tires about 2 years ago for about $300 and have put hardly any miles on it. It has a corbin seat on it and I have the original seat. It has never been in an accident. It is in a non-operational status with the DMV. I also have a green motorcycle cover for it. The fuel tank is the biggest problem. A new one is about $1000 if you can find one and it must be a California tank because of the emission system of the bike and the venting of the tank. The current tank I believe must be replaced. These tanks have stainless lugs embedded in them and the tank is made of some sort of nylon. When the screws get stuck in the lugs the lugs spin in the tank when you try to remove the screws and you can't get them out. I attempted to repair this tank but I consider this tank to be unusable and unsafe and must be replaced. I'm also not sure of the cause of the fuel jets getting clogged. I'm selling this motorcycle cheap because I am just tired of messing with it. The parts alone are worth a lot. If you can get it running great. Just remember that the fuel tank is defective. I can't stress this enough. This is an as is sale. The battery is dead, the fuel jets are clogged and the fuel tank needs replacing. This bike is for local pickup only.
