Vehicle Detail
This 1968 Camaro Convertible is a driver that will turn heads and get attention at your local car show! It is original (stock condition) and is a real car. It has a history. It's a numbers matching 327 2bbl w/ a Power Glide transmission. Has had 4 owners which includes the original owner who bought it new in Wexford Pa at Baierl Chevrolet. Comes with the original Protecto Plate still in the book, delivery inspection sheet and keys. The 2nd owner was his son (who rebuilt the car in the 90's), then my friend who bought it from the son and myself are owners number 3 and 4. I have the original owner and sons contact info. It is a driver with minor imperfections but is a beautiful red convertible that wins trophies at local car shows. I have a handful of trophies and it placed 2nd in it's class (First Generation, Convertible, Stock) at The Camaro Nationals. She runs and drives great! I would drive it anywhere. It is not a race car, and just for clarification it's not an RS, SS, Pace Car, Yenko or any other super special type of Camaro. It is a real car with a really cool story all the way back to the showroom it was first sold in. Not butchered up, always cared for. The only thing I'm aware on this car that wasn't there when it was new are the 15 inch rally wheels. I do have the 14 inch wheels and hub caps it came with but the son could not remember if those were original. If you are looking for a fun car that is the real thing and a great investment, this is your car. Rebuilt by owners son in 90's (I have 2 pictures from the rebuild he found)327 2bbl w/ Powerglide and PSDrum brakes all aroundNew frame mount bushings (rubber bushings were dry rotted so I replaced them)New gas tankNew carpet (2 weeks ago)New leather bushings in the steering column Original AM radio (not working)Floors in good conditionRebuilt Trans (4000 miles on it)Exhaust in great condition!I've done some brake and front end work so a few new parts thereMotor is rock solid. No noise or smoke. The owners son told me it was the original interior and it is in fantastic shape. The knobs and steering wheel show some minor wear but seats, dash, instruments are all in great shape.Glass all in good shape. No scratchesThe paint is more than 15 years old but shines like it's brand new. It's been garaged by everyone since the son rebuilt the car. Imperfections:One nic on each side of the car and a couple scratches on the trunk (see pic). Not noticeable until you are on top of the car. A few minor nics on the gas cap and front header (very small)The chrome is all in good shape but the passenger door has a dimple on the chrome on top of the doorWindshield trim on top has nics and could be paintedThe top has no tears but does have a few small cracks.
