Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 1970 AMC Rebel Machine, this is a limited one year production vehicle in mostly original unmolested condition. The vehicle is being sold in AS-IS condition with no warranty expressed or implied. The vehicle resides in the Austin, TX area. Please see all photos (I do have several others showing undercarriage and suspension) my contact is 512-914-9923. I expect to conform to all EBAY policies so please don't ask me to stray. I have 100% feedback which I'm proud of and expect to maintain. Here is your chance to own a RARE piece of American Motors history as there were only approximately 2326 of these made, these vehicles rarely come to market especially in this condition. If you are looking I'm certain you know the history and rarity of this model. If you are unaware, I would encourage you to explore the web regarding. I have owned this car for approximately 14 years, I purchased it from a reputable classic car dealer and it has been provided TLC and kept in the garage the entire time. The vehicle will come with all the original owner documents shown in the photo, its also listed on the Rebel Machine registry. Years ago I was able to contact the original owner regarding the story of this car though I can not attest the accuracy of the story he told be that the car was on loan to the Air Force Academy as a program vehicle, he was a mechanic at the dealership in Holyoke, CO and when the car came back in off program he purchased as the first titled owner. He said he kept the vehicle for a few years until the gas crisis made it too expensive to drive at which point he sold the vehicle. The car has its original engine with the correct engine and intake code with the original carburetor with the tag & original Borg Warner T-10 4 Speed transmission and drive train. Further, it has the original coil, distributor, oil cap, etc. The rear is the standard 3:54 gears. The paint, stripes (note: photo of trunk stripe starting to fade and crack a bit due to age, other side stripes are good but I wanted to point this out), wheels are also original, note also the various factory stickers, etc. the pictures paint a thousand words. This car does NOT have power steering or air conditioning and DID NOT come from the factory with these options. Throughout my ownership I have made various repairs most which were made with original and authentic factory NOS parts all which I will describe below. I saved the used old parts and they come with this deal if you want them. Here a list of what I have done: New rear brakes turning drums and replacing hardware and cylinders and brake lines with NOS parts, New NOS front brake pads and brake lines, New aftermarket wheel bearings, new aftermarket U-Joint, new aftermarket front shocks, New NOS bushings (all of them), New NOS tie rods & ball joints, New NOS fuel pump (its has original vacuum wipers so the pump has the vacuum unit built into it), Rebuilt the original alternator (still has original Motorola tag), New NOS master cylinder, New NOS hoses, New NOS air flap actuator, New NOS water pump, New aftermarket pressure plate, clutch and throw out bearing (the flywheel was properly resurfaced), New aftermarket distributor cap and wires. I had the valves freshened up, while the heads were off I painted the engine and components with the real American Motors engine color. The original owner told me he installed the exhaust headers and the contact paper on the dash face (the original dash face is in good shape behind if this is pealed off). The mufflers are Flowmaster turbo style. The vehicle will need an alignment I just had not gotten to this. The head liner is starting to sag a bit, it is NOT torn just that the adhesive is coming loose in the middle so it will need to be simply glued back up. There is some oil leaking from what I can determine around the rear main seal which in time probably should be addressed. The parking brake works but occasionally the foot mechanism pops releasing the brake. The rear seats are is great condition, the passenger seat is in good plus condition and the drivers seat is in worn condition. The cars runs and drives all other items work except the washer fluid because the bag leaks. I have described this vehicle honestly and to the best of my ability again the vehicle is being sold as is where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle and to have satisfied himself or she as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs for this vehicle Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auction end and make arrangement for final payment at that time. a $ 500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction end. The remaining balance is due 10 days after auction end or the period of time that is agreed by between the buyer and seller. I will not accept Paypal for payment, payment must be made either in cash or bank cashiers check. I do not ship so the buyer is responsible for pick - up. Good luck to all.
