Needs restoration. VIN breakdown: 136375B177716 1-Chevrolet 36-Malibu 8 cylinder 37-Sport Coupe 2 door 5-1965 B-Baltimore, MD. assembly plant 177716-serial number This is a super rare vinyl top car with the vinyl top factory trim still installed. The original vinyl top was removed some time in the past. Seats are in great shape. The vinyl is soft and has no cracks. Interior needs headliner and carpet. Steering wheel has cracks. Dash is original and uncut. This is not a full gauge dash. However I do have the rare ammeter shunt if you wish to go with SS gauges. Car has the front headlight wiring harness, but does NOT have the engine wiring harness. Body is above average, good doors, floor pans and the glass does not need replaced. It could use a new windshield due to a crack, but that is it for glass replacement. The side and rear glass are fog, crack and chip free. The rear window leaks at the bottom and the trunk pan will need replaced. New quarters were put on in the past but are dented at the top. Drivers side quarter also has damage around the tail light panel. Hood has rust at the front turndown on the inner structure and the skin. Deck lid has rust on the inner structure at the rear turn down. Comes with extra deck lid with SS emblems. This deck lid has good inner structure but the outer skin had damage at the front where it meets the sail panel on the car. Use the skin from the original deck lid on this ones inner structure, was my original plan. Extra new and oem parts in boxes on rear seat. Including the headlight bezels. Extra radiator support and grill are in the trunk. The original radiator support in the car has lower rust in the usual spots. The original side trim for the car is included. It is laying across the seats in the pics. The frame on this car is in very good condition. Engine was rebuilt several years ago and put back in car but the top end was just sat on, so expect a probable rebuild anyway. Nothing special, just ordinary 283. 283 V8 with Powerglide tranny. The 283 that is in it, is the correct year, but is coded as having been used with a manual transmission. Usable if you wish to convert car to manual transmission. Dual exhaust. Extra 283 with power pack heads and powerglide transmission, correct engine code for year, and transmission of car. This extra engine/transmission has sat for several years, expect it to need seals and gaskets etc. It is in original condition with no mods. 2 barrel. Missing drivers side exhaust manifold. This was a good running engine when pulled several years ago. The crankshaft can be turned over and the engine is not locked up. Very good original valve covers, etc. The car is missing the gas tank. During a recent inspection by a prospective bidder the passenger side door became stuck. It no longer opens. I think the latch rod has come loose in the door. You will have to remove the front seat, and then remove the door panel to gain access to the latch rod, if that is the problem..... North Carolina title that matches vin on car. CAR IS SOLD "AS IS".
