Anyone can touch up an old car and make it look good. This classic looks great on its own. It has never been wrecked and its original white paint is in good condition. The undercarriage looks good with virtually no rust. Don’t look for any gimmicky add-ons—this is a true survivor car. Beauty is more than skin deep with this Triumph. The current owner, a former British car mechanic, has owned it for 22 years. The engine is original and sound, enhanced with minor upgrades. It starts and runs dependably, and shifts smoothly through all four gears. And it has a feature that sets it apart from many TR-6s: A working electric overdrive that cuts the RPMs for a comfortable cruising speed of 75. The interior is also in good shape, with rebuilt seats, door panels and carpets. Window lifts have been replaced and windows go up and down smoothly. The convertible top is a weak spot—it keeps the rain out but it shows its 40 years of wear. You can replace the top for $200 to $300, but this is a car best driven with the top down anyway! You can take for a spin anytime—it looks and sounds great, with that throaty Triumph growl.
