Last year I was in western co.Saw this 53 chevy.It has a few dents from the owner that couldn't get it in and out of the garage..The car was purchased new in Montrose co.1st owner sold car 1957.2nd owner a woman drove the car until 1981 It has always been in a garage.There was a stuck intake valve #2 intake.I put another push rod in,installed new original style exhaust system.Rebuilt carb.Removed fuel tank and cleaned.Rebuilt master cylinder,rebuilt front wheel cyl,Installed new rear wheel cylinders.The drums were like brand new.The front suspension is perfect.The floor ,doors,trunk lid,hood inner fenders are as solid as the day the car was built.There is not 1 pit mark on any interior chrome.Steering wheel is perfect.Clock WORKS wind up.Has radio not working.Dri ver's door latch does NOT work..Driver's door glass cracked because some idiot slammed the door trying to get a broken lock fixed.I have some pieces of very very good side chrome for the car.Needs driver's door panel. If you are looking for an ORIGINAL 53 CHEVY this is an excellent candidate.Most of the exterior chrome will clean up(for original car) if you are doing a total restoration you will need rechroming..The engine runs excellent The transmission shifts as it should I AM STARTING THE BIDDING FOR EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE IN THE CAR.I BROUGHT THIS CAR EAST BECAUSE I THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE AR LEAST I PERSON WHO WOULD LIKE TO START WITH A VERY VERY SOLID RARE 53.I don't think there is more then a handful of these cars on the east coast in this condition. YOU CAN BUY ONE CHEAPER SPEND 4-6000.00 GETTING IT CLOSE TO THE CONDITION OF THIS CAR.I HAVE RESTORED 'TOTAL ROTESSEIRE RESTORATIONS ON CARS FOR 25 YEARS.IN THE LONG RUN YOU WILL SPEND A LITTLE MORE UP FRONT BUT IN THE END YOU WON'T SPEND AS MUCK AND HAVE A LOT NICER CAR.AND THIS CAR HAS 37000 ORIGINAL MILESi paid 5500.00 for the car 1250.00 transport service exhaust system 190.00 brakes 275.00 quarter stainless 200.00 starting bid 7415.00 CALL STEVE at 610-767-0576 cell 610 577-5357
