Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1972 Q code Ford Mustang Mach 1 with 109015 miles on it. It has the 351 Cleveland 4V in it with a four barrel Holley carburetor with an automatic transmission, factory AC car with disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear. Car has lots of power, runs good and is solid with only a couple pinhole rust spots in the rear quarters. It sounds awesome with the headers and new dual exhaust ran on it. This Mach 1 is mostly original aside from the paint job along with a few other odds and ends and is complete minus the armrests in the rear seat. The interior is in good shape with no tears in the seats but does have some discoloration in a couple spots, the dash pad is in great shape with no tears or cracks. The passenger door glass has some imperfections on it. There are a few new miscellaneous parts throughout the car and I've done some recent work on it. The cars does have a shimmy in it as mentioned in the description and I believe it's the harmonic balancer, just haven't gotten around to dealing with it. The carburetor could stand to be cleaned out, I just hate pulling them off so that hasn't gotten done yet either. The paint job is fair, it's old and an amateur job but it did a lot for it as far as protecting it over the years. Will make a fine daily driver now or with paint and some attention to detail on the interior and under the hood it could be a show car. Any questions, text/call me at 662-315-1337, ask for Thomas. Thanks. This Mach 1 has been in storage the past 11 years but was periodically ran to keep seals tight, I just got it back on the road as a trusted driver about 3 months ago and have put a couple hundred miles on it during that time. Before I put it back on the road I gave it an oil change, changed the transmission fluid as well as the filter, replaced the front passenger rotor and put new pads on the front but left the brake shoes on the rear, and tweaked the carburetor along with a few other minor things. Car runs great but as I mentioned above, it does have a shimmy in it, not terrible but it's there and the carb could probably stand to be pulled off and cleaned and/or a kit put in. Thanks for looking. On Mar-28-14 at 17:08:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Today the Mach 1 went to the shop. It had the gas tank flushed and cleaned, new fuel sending unit installed, new fuel pump installed and new fuel filter with hoses replaced as needed. The car now runs much better, my previous statement about the harmonic balancer was inaccurate. With all of this done to the fuel system, the shimmy is out of the car and it drives and idles like a different car, I was amazed at what a difference this made.
