1984 Honda ATC-250R

1984 Honda ATC-250R three wheeler. 250cc air cooled 2 stroke single cylinder engine with 5 speed manual clutch manual transmission. Starts easily and runs well. Idles no problem and turns up with little lag. Power band is awesome. Engine was rebuilt top and bottom end and has only 2 tanks of fuel through it since rebuild. Something happened to second gear but I have not had the time or energy to take it apart and see what happened. It doesn't grind, but just feels like you have shifted to neutral. It has enough power that I have just been skipping second gear and going to third. It is a wheelie machine for sure and not for an amateur rider. The rear tires are slick and will need replacement for better traction but they all hold air and don't leak down. It has an FMF pipe, extended axles, and aftermarket sprocket. The fuel petcock also seems inoperable as fuel flows through it regardless of position. The headlight assembly was missing when I got it. The plastics are in decent shape. They are a bit faded and covered in stickers. Overall a solid machine that runs well. Not the beast that the liquid cooled 85-86 models are, but still a blast to ride. Has no trouble keeping up with many modern 400cc quads. Would make a good backup bike or restoration project. I have done my best to describe the bike accurately and have made no attempt to hide anything. The bike is sold in as is condition with no warranty expressed or implied. It is the bidders responsibility to inspect the bike before the end of the auction, not when it is delivered. I am willing to deliver the bike within 200 miles of central NC for free, .75 per mile after that to cover the cost of fuel. I am happy to answer any questions or take more pictures and send them.
