Vehicle Detail
1978 ford super cab 4x4. This is a running, driving, steering, stopping, titled, registered, insured usable project truck. I bought it with the intention of fixing her up while I use it as a daily driver. Upon further review it is more of a project than I have time for. It has a stock 400 with 2 barrel carb. I have no idea if it is original to the truck or how many miles it has on it. Odometer says 3150 I have no idea how many times its rolled over. It does start easy and runs ok. It does have a rear main oil leak. Not to bad but does leave its mark when parked for an extended period. It has a c6 transmission that shifts solid and on time, Transfer case works as it should. It is a f150 but has f250 running gear. Rear end is a dana 60 with 3:55 gears and drum brakes. Front has dana 44 3:55 gears, disc brakes and new warn hubs. (they are still very stiff to turn). This year super cab did come with leaf spring solid axle front end like it is. Rear end has 4 inch block lift, front end has add a leaf to level it. Drives around town good. Hi way speeds it shakes rattles and rolls like a 36 year old lifted truck on stiff suspensions does. It is a bit doggy at hi way speeds but it is rolling on 33s with hi gears. Has aluminum rims with good pro comp 385/75/16 tires. I am not an old ford expert. Most of the above info comes from the previous owner who deals with these old fords a lot. Now for the body. The bed is pretty rough shape. Rust and dents on both sides. Drivers side rear has big dent exposing very bad old body work. Rust is mainly lower corners. Tail gate is trashed. The cab has rust in lower corners. Floor boards need replaced. There are rust bubbles starting above the drivers side rain gutter. Passenger door is dented below window and has rust in front lower corner. Drivers door is good. Front fenders look solid, hood has small dent drivers front. Grill is cracked, grill trim has dents in upper corners. Front bumper is buckled, rear bumper is good. The cab is savable if someone gets after the rust issues sooner than later. Wait to long an its going to take hold and ruin this classic. Interior.. the truck was obviously green from the factory. The inside retains its original green. The front seat drivers side has wear and tear. Multiple stains, they look like they will clean up with some scrubbing. Rear jump seats are excellent. Dash is original. Has 80s vintage tape deck. I don't think the dash was cut at all but I didn't remove the deck to check. I already mentioned the floor panels are rusty. Floor vinyl is trashed. Tilt steering column needs bushings for the tilt. and steering wheel is taped up holding the horn cover. Dash pad is cracked. Both door panels are broke. all most Every thing on this truck seems to work, all lights inside and out including the cargo light work. Heater works but fan is noisy. Wipers work. Horn does not work. I don't remember the temp gauge coming up but the heater was def warm on the last cold morning I drove to work. Has dual tanks both work and transfer switch operates. I think I have disclosed everything I now about it. I have only had this truck a short time. I really like these super cab body styles but I want something closer to finished condition. I got a fair deal when I bought it so am letting it go no reserve no minimum bid. I will take my chances with recovering my purchase amount and give some ford truck fan the chance to get this one at a good price. Some people price these old trucks like there gold plated, im pricing it like its rust plated. I hope someone sees the same potential in the old girl like I did and has the time to give it the love it deserves. good luck and get bidding. speaking of bidding. please be serious, have your funds and shipping plans in order. I have blocked negative bidders but I cant do anything about zeros. Ebay figures you have to start some were and does not allow blocking zero feedback like some people think you can. I don't play games and I will let my 600 plus positive feedbacks speak for my rep. Thanks Rod... If you would like to discuss the truck or are close to Klamath falls Oregon and would like to look at it send me a message with your number and I will call you back. again....it is a project so please look over the pictures close and read all the info I have provided. I want you to be sure you know what your getting into so I don't get any bs about it later On Mar-24-14 at 11:08:21 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had some people asking what my buy it know price is. There is not one and i will not end the auction early. This one is going to go to the high bidder. On Mar-31-14 at 15:28:40 PDT, seller added the following information: IF YOU HAVE ZERO FEEDBACK AND BID ON THIS TRUCK THAN YOU NEED TO RESPOND TO MY MESSAGES. IF YOU DO NOT THAN YOUR BID WILL BE RETRACTED IMMEDIATLY. On Apr-01-14 at 19:23:25 PDT, seller added the following information: hello again bidders,,,i have a couple updates. Unfortunatly while I was driving it to work today the gas gauge quit on me. shows e on both tanks. They seem to be transferring ok but no reading. Also when I put gas in the rear tank to make sure it had some I noticed the fill spout dripping. The hose from the spout to the tank needs replaced, If you have already been bidding on the truck I will refund a 100.00 bucks at the end. If that's not fair we can cancel the transaction. Sorry for the new issues but just trying to give full disclosure. On Apr-02-14 at 05:47:10 PDT, seller added the following information: gas gauge started working again...
