Vehicle Detail
This information is from the vin Number B=Barracuda S= Special 23=2 Door hardtop H=340 3=1973 B=Hamtrack, Mi 480396= production Number We have thoroughly enjoyed owning this Cuda and are going to try to expose what faults this car may have so that the bidders will have a good understanding of the condition of this 40 year old vehicle. Here we go!! This car has not been smoked in since we purchased it in 1991. The Engine: It has 1973 vintage 340 engine has X Heads. I don't know if it's matching numbers, but the block is stamped 73 and Heads have the X on them. The engine has an Edlebrock manifold and a 650 Holley carburetor with Headers. The engine wiring and under dash harness are from Year One. The tach has not been hooked up, so I don't know if the gauge actually works, but the wires and Fuse Box are like new. It has the original light harness's. Wiper motor is from Napa auto parts and still has the sticker on it. Power Brakes: The master cylinder and vacuum booster were replaced some time ago and the car stops well. Disc front brakes and drum in rear. Brake cylinders, springs and shoes are in great shape. Transmission: 727 Slapstick automatic with new T-handle from Year One and have the original in the box. Rear End: 8 3/4 and the gear size is unknown. Tires and Wheels: It has Grand Am radial GT's and Rally Rims that were purchased through Les Swabs Tires. Body: This Cuda Body is straight. The doors open and close smoothly like they should. There are signs of light rust in a few places and could probably be sanded away. This is not a show car, but has the potential to be one. It has dual chrome mirrors and the chrome is in good shape with a few dings. Most of the chrome was re-chromed by Tripleplate Chrome in the early 90's, when the car was painted. The bumpers have not been repaired or re-chromed and the front bumper is bent back on the drivers side corner (See Photo), but doesn't touch the fender. This happened before we purchased the car. The rear bumper is etched/scratched and you may want them to be re-chromed or replaced through Year One. The wheel-well chrome and rocker panels are missing so you can actually see what otherwise would be hidden from view. These areas are in really good condition (see photos). The front and rear valances are clean. There are a couple of door dings and scratches on the driver's side door, which happened when I was driving it more regularly. The trunk doesn’t have any rust holes and appears to be pretty solid (see photos) and has a trunk mat from Year One that’s not ripped up. The spare tire hold down is there but is missing the wing nut. It has a jack, but I’m not sure if its the factory jack. The spare tire has the rally style rim. This car is a great vehicle for the person who would like to restore or make it into a custom show car. It has a vinyl top with some bubbling under the rear window and a chip of paint just below the rear chrome that shows a sign of rust that can be repaired (See photos). The vinyl top has a small nick in it, towards the front and should be easily replaced through Year One. Interior: The interior carpet, seats and head liner are clean and have no rips and were also purchased through Year one. The dash does have a crack in it. The rear dual speaker cover panel is in good shape and was also bought through Year One. The drivers lap belt functions but is missing the cover portion. It needs upper seat belts. This Cuda has an Am/Fm/CD stereo with 6x9 speakers in rear. Door panels and interior are original and have scratches, nicks and dings. These are all available through Year One. The air conditioner is from a 1970 Dodge Challenger, but not charged and hasn't been for some time. I'm not positive that it works, but it worked when I removed it. This car is missing its windshield washer container, pump and hoses and these are now available through Year One, which is great news. We have maintained the car over the years, but it has been in storage in a 900 square foot Shop that we have sold and now we only have a two car garage. Something had to go when it came to our toy's. This Cuda has been sitting for a while but was started up regularly. I drove it over to the garage and noticed that it vibrates, but it seemed to drive well. I would recommend having it shipped via a transport company if you are not local. We have receipts for many of the parts bought through Year One, Triple plate chrome, other suppliers and shops that may have supplied parts or services over the years. These will go with the car, so the lucky bidder can keep the records with it. We are not interested in trades. We still have another project car and as my wife puts it, "We're tight on space." We have more photos and will be happy to forward them to you if you’re interested, and if you want specific shots please email or call, Jerry at 509-710-0517 and I will be happy to email them to you and/or answer any questions. I will require a $500 non-refundable deposit after the auction via Paypal. If this request is too difficult please contact me before bidding. The full purchase price must be received within 5 days from the date of the Auction in the form of a certified payment, bank transfer or by cash. We are willing to store the vehicle for 30 days to allow you time to arrange the shipping. Shipping and all related expenses, logistics, etc. are the sole responsibility of the winner of the auction.
