This is a well maintained 1979 R65 with 9932 documented miles. Extensive service records accompany the bike along with a book of hand written notes as the R65 was ridden. The R65 is wearing its original BMW “Champagne” paint that has a priceless patina. The bike was bought new by a BMW motorcycle mechanic who performed regular and meticulous maintenance. Service records from 1987, along with almost $3000 of service in 2008/09 accompany this R65. The original owner’s manual and service decals for the bike are included, as is the first owner’s dedicated notebook, and original luggage rack. As you can see from the photos, the paint is excellent for being 33 years old, however there are chips, minor scuffing in between the seat and the fuel tank, and a few scratches here and there. The foam in the seat is firm and feels brand new, and the brown vinyl has no cuts or any significant wear. The chrome is not showing any pitting anywhere. A full factory original tool kit is included. This R65 is located in Downers Grove Illinois. Payment is to be by wire transfer or in cash at the time of pick up. We cannot crate the bike, but we will help facilitate pick up.
