This is the perfect project car for any Porsche enthusiast that loves to tinker with their car! The body and interior of this car are well above average for it's mileage and the bright and shiny wheels were recently fitted to the car. AC blows cold and the electronics in the car work as they should. The convertible top operates perfectly and looks great. Judging from the interior, exterior and convertible top condition of this car one would think the car has 1/2 the mileage that the odometer shows as it has obviously been well taken care of. The engine has had repairs recently carried out to remedy a cracked cylinder head which lead to oil and coolant intermix. The problem head was replaced with a rebuilt unit and the cooling system was flushed, solving the problem. The engine runs fine and even with over 170K miles the engine is quiet running and still makes very good power, the car is seriously quick! It has recently had a full oil service and is ready to enjoy spring with the top down! The car does need a lot of little things done and because of that I believe its fair to sell the car as a project car, even though you can drive it just as it is without doing anything. The major issues are the interior trim pieces on the dash needing replacement and the tiptronic transaxle needs a service. The transaxle shifts fine through all gears in manual mode, but in automatic mode it does not shift into 4th or 5th gear until engine RPM is higher than normal. Tires are near new on front and rear and were replaced when the newly refinished wheels were fitted. These tires have very little miles on them, and though the tread designs do not match front to rear, you'd probably never notice it if I hadn't pointed it out :-) This would be a great 911 for someone who appreciates working on their own car and making it the way that they want it. With the majority of the issues being trim pieces needing replacement and a little TLC being extended someone will get a great car, at a great price. I believe in full disclosure when selling a vehicle and this is why I have brought up the transaxle issue, though it can probably be addressed with a service, I have chosen to sell the car as is and take a loss on it. These transaxles are very strong and seem to never give issues, and because of that used ones are easy to find at good prices, if it needed a replacement. This is a great chance to buy a car that cost almost 100K when sold new for a dirt cheap price, just add some of your time and TLC and enjoy.
