Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1978 Chrysler C-22 – sailing ready. Heading overseas and would rather sell it than store it. Just step the mast and you’re off. Since summer 2011 it has only been sailed on the Potomac. During the sailing seasons (April-November) it was stored mast up on its trailer at the Ft. Belvoir Marina. During the winters it was de-rigged and stored at my house to get worked on (refurbished), as needed. Details: 22ft, swing keel, 26ft mast, cabin sleeps 5, 6HP Johnson 2-stroke long-shaft outboard, full cushions in cabin, full sails (including spinnaker), 2002 Performance aluminum trailer with LED lighting and new spare tire. Known history / repairs: bought in 2009 from divorcee that wanted it gone. Hull is solid with no known damage or leaks. After purchasing it (and test sailing it) I completely removed and re-mounted all hardware (including toe-rail), painted the above water-line hull, removed and stripped/refinished swing keel, machined new 316L stainless keel plates w/grease ports and Delrin caps, replaced keel cable, replaced oak tiller arm, and running rigging replaced. Electronic consoles were remade, electronics re-wired, and motor swing-down mount refurbished prior to the 2012 season. Prior to last season (2013) I made the stern bimini railing / sunroof / mast transport roller, and remanufactured the swing rudder plates & shaft w/316L stainless. Sails: Minor staining from age. Tears have been repaired with sail tape (extra tape included). Had planned to replace them in the next few years, but have been good enough to sail at least twice a month the last few seasons, so there was no hurry. Electronics installed: Garmin GPSMap 398C Sounder (with built-in inland maps and dual beam sonar/depth finder), AM/FM radio with USB port, dual batteries (1 new last season), digital battery meter, 12V DC port, emergency bilge pump, on-demand water pump, cabin fan, on-board battery charger (plugs into 110v outlet), and solar panel trickle charger. Extras: Swim ladder (new in 2012), 2 standard life vests, 1 throw-able float cushion, 2 fire extinguishers (1 new in 2013), toolbox w/tools, gaff hook, paddle, air horns, main sail & tiller arm cover, two wedge anchors (great for the Potomac), bumpers, launch lines/tie-offs, gin pole and mast stepping rigging (so you don’t have to use the boom and main sheet rigging), and misc hardware, fasteners, lines. What you would need to sail it (based only on VA regulations)…register it (and the trailer, if needed), insure it (FYI - I pay $320 a year for liability plus $7k boat/trailer coverage from Progressive), extra life vests if more than two people, fill the tank (I'm including the remaining 2-stroke oil), and flares (or non-pyrotechnic visual signals). More pictures coming...crazy snow and wind keeps making things difficult around here. On Mar-17-14 at 19:00:10 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: Added new pictures that were taken yesterday (snuck in before the latest snowfall). Also, one older photo showing the remanufactured keel plates I made - along with what was left of the original ones for comparison.
