Vehicle Detail
For sale is a nice example of a 1983 Honda CR 480. I purchased it from a gentleman in his 50's. After starting it and riding it I bought it on the spot. Its has been in my collection ever since and has only been started from time to time.I have owned 6-7 CR480's over the years and this is one of the nicest I have had. Recently I was fortunate enough to purchase one that was a little nicer so I am selling this one. I will list some important info about the bike below but I also encourage you to contact me directly should you have any questions that I did not address below. I would be happy to answer them for you. Due to a recent injury I did not have a chance to wash and detail the bike so it will arrive as you see it in the pictures. This bike does not have a title but I will issue the new owner a Bill of Sale. Please keep in mind this is a vintage bike that is over 30 years old and it does not come with a warranty. Thank you for looking. Bike details Motor: The motor has excllent compression. Its starts, runs and shifts as it should. The previous owner had issues with the drain plug and had it professionally fixed. This is a common problem and every CR480 I have owned had similar issues so this one was addressed. Motor paint is not bad but I had planned on lightly sanding and repainting to make it look even better. Plastics: to my knowledge all of the plastics on this bike is original. The front fender does have scratches but a new one can still be purchased through Honda. The rest of the plastic including the tank is in good condition and has nice color to it. Personally I would replace the yellow number plate decals. Although these look good the person who installed them didnt trim them properly. Fat bar coversion was added and I like the way it looks. Tires are practically new. Rims are some of the nicest I have seen and spokes are pretty good too. Sprocket is new but I would replace the chain. Seat foam and seat cover are almost new Stock pipe is in great shape but does have one small ding. With a new paint job this pipe would look awesomeNot sure if the silencer is stock or not. Kickstarter is tight Original PE stly carb was replaced with a PWK "D" style slide for better performance and throttle response. Frame paint looks original and does have shine to it. As you can see from the pictures there is boot wear. Swingarm looks good and the decals are in decent shape. The previous owner did have the forks and shock serviced. They do have rebound. I am 210lbs and it feels good for my size. Fat pegs were installed (left side peg was trimmed down for easier starting. SHIPPING: costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I dont mind holding the bike for a while once it is paid for. I realize it takes time to make shipping arrangements and I want to make this a stress free experience for the buyer. I do have a pretty good list of shippers I would be happy to pass on to you. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - I have several Over sea's Shipping services that I can refer you to that will crate and ship to countries like Australia, New Zealand, UK as well as other country's in Europe if you require those services. PAYMENT: this auction requires a small non-refundable deposit with the balance due within 7 days of the auction ending (unless other arrangements were made between seller and buyer prior to purchasing). I will accept the balance of payment in the following ways-Bank transfer, cash in person, Bank of America cashiers check or USPS money orders.
