This is a true barn find. this is a 1977 Mercedes Benz 450SL being sold as part of a Estate sale. this car was found on a Central Florida Horse Ranch in Ocala the horse breeding capitol for the south with the exception of Kentucky :-) , last year when the Original Owner passed. I bought this car Orlando Florida to restore. I recently found out that I will be transferred to Seattle Washington, as of such I cannot take this car with me. For MB 450SL collectors this is the car to have. Its an Unique year model as evidence by its Color Combination. As of such it has some unique features that are 1977 year only options. 1.The Interior is a Very Rare white interior not many were make with this interior. 2.The Exterior is a rare Fire engine Red, some cars were painted red but normally you see them with either the black, tan or other color interiors, this combination is rare red/white ( off white interior) . 3.The Engine appears to be the Original Engine with 75,000 miles on it. ( approximate, see picture of mileage gauge for exact mileage 4. This car also has the rare European single lens headlights ( the Superior and expensive Glass ones) as apposed to the plastic cover only options5.It has the optional wire wheels on all 4 wheels, but there are some surface rust noted on wheels that can be clean with lime away solution. 6.The car has the Original Hard top and soft top Now for its needs: 1,Will need total restoration to make it a 22,000 Dollar car2.the car has been in storage for 4yrs and as of such will need restoration.has some rust on the hood as seen in the pictures 3.has typical rust in a few areas with some rust holes seen, but mostly some surface rust noted. 4 interior pieces are mostly there, car will need interior cleaning 5. The car was running when parked but will need a Fuel Pump and a tune up, change the gas in the tank from sitting. these are things I would do if staying in Orlando and restoring the car. Car is over all very Solid for a 1977 year car. The interior Dash was cracked at some point ( sun damage) and was replaced with a cover option, the seats and floor will need cleaning, also the the hard top appears to have some mildew on it. from sitting. The tires are tired and will need to be changed but can roll the car to a potential Truck for transport. car will obviously need over all restorative care as I have now learned the hard way not to let these cars sit even with low mileage.
