Three-owner 1978 Toyota FJ40 with 70,460 original miles. This FJ starts, runs, drives, and stops. Original 4.2 engine runs well with no leaks or smoke, but definitely needs a complete tune up to smooth it out. Clutch is strong and shifts firmly into all 4 gears. Four-wheel drive (Hi and Low) is fully functional. Lights and gauges all function as they should. Brakes work, but are a bit spongy. Tires hold air and have good tread. The FJ drives true and straight. Can be driven cross-town, but probably best if you tow it home. Driver's side rear floor corner has rusted through, along with both rear body corners. Driver's and passenger's side front floor pans are solid. Bottoms of both doors are developing rust, and both sides above rear wheels are starting to bubble. Additionally, the tailpipe has rusted from the outlet of the muffler. The truck is also missing one piece of side glass, has a dented front fender, minor tears in drivers seat, and rear doors are misaligned. Certainly a project truck with its fair share of rust of other issues, but overall a great example of an original running project FJ40. Sold with an operational 8,000 lb Ramsey Winch, CB Radio, luggage rack, and other miscellaneous parts i have collected over the years. Sold as-is with no warranties implied.
