This is a very strong running 1970 bug with a 1600cc single port engine. All stock with the exception of low-back seats and early style bumpers. The vehicle has a salvage title due to some damage to the passenger side fenders; the front fender has been replaced with a clean original. The car is registered and insured in my name. Tires are new with approximately 1000 miles of use. Aftermarket radio/cassette works well. I replaced the shift rod bushing this last summer so the shifting mechanism is very smooth. New gas tank installed. New rubber floor as well as coco mats from Wolfsburg West. When I replaced the rubber floor, I found some rust in the floor behind the passenger seat with a small hole. I sealed it up but it should have a replacement panel welded in someday. The rest of the pan is solid. All lights function properly. Doors close well and lock. The car fires up immediately and runs very well. The engine does not leak any oil. I replaced the points with a Petronix electronic ignition module. Brakes function perfectly as well as the parking brake. Horn/button needs to be fixed or replaced and the front bonnet has a few dents. The car has been resprayed in its original Yukon yellow however, the damage to the fender occurred after being painted. The car is not perfect but is an excellent daily driver.
