Vehicle Detail

Up for Auction is a 1937 GMC Pick-Up Truck that has modern drivetrain, power brakes, power steering and modern suspension. When was the last time you saw a 1937 GMC truck? This truck is very dependable, it starts easily, idles smoothly, has plenty of power, and drives like a modern truck. It does not over heat (has electric auxillary fan) and holds good oil pressure. This truck has a modern Chevrolet V-8 (cubic inch displacement unknown) mated to a Turbo 350 Automatic Transmission with a shift kit. There is a slight fluid leak from the transmission. The engine has stock Chevrolet exhaust manifolds which exit through dual exhaust, Wieland intake manifold, Edelbrock carb, HEI distributor, chrome oil pan, timing chain cover, alternator and valve covers. The truck sits on a Chevrolet S-10 Frame with a Camero front sub frame, with power steering, upper and lower control arm front suspension with coil springs, front and rear sway bars, rear leaf spring suspension with 10 bolt non-posi Camero rear differential. Front power disc brakes and rear drum brakes stop this truck much better than the original brakes. This truck was purchased in its present condition more than five years ago with all of the work being done by a previous owner. The truck rides on four fairly new Kelly Springfield Charger performance tires size 235/60 R 15 which are mounted on mag wheels. The headlights, front marker lights, tail lights, heater, tachometer and stereo work. The turn signals and brake lights do not currently work. You should expect to have to make repairs to the electrical wiring to get the turn signals working. The odometer was replaced so the actual mileage is unknown. I am not certain if the top has been chopped. The front windshield measures 10 13/16 inches in the center with the measurement taken inside the frame. It is apparent from the pictures that the truck will eventually need significant body and paint work. The prior body and paint work appears to have been done by an amiture. All of the fenders and body panel have rust bubbles showing through and evidence of previous body filler. The driverside cab corner has a small rust hole. Both doors sag when openned and have to be slammed hard to close completely. The flat side glass on both doors is cracked. The front and rear windows are not cracked. The truck comes with a modern bench seat which needs to be attached. The floor pan under the front seat appears to be solid. However, the front floor pans and firewall have been patched by pop-riviting sheetmetal in place. To make this truck 100% with body and paint you should expect to replace the floor pans and firewall and to perform significant metal work on all body surfaces. The bed and right cab corner where they mount to the frame are loose and need attention. The bed has been shimmed to fit the frame with wood blocks. The bed wood floor is present, but will need replaced at some point. The unpainted hood sides come with the truck. This is a 76 year old truck that drives more like a 30 year old truck which makes it a lot more enjoyable to drive than an all original 1937 GMC. This truck will make for a fun drive as you work project. I am listing this truck for a friend and have attempted to describe it accuarately. Please call the owner Charlie at 304-698-6571 with any questions that you may have or to arrange a pre-purchase inspection. Please do not email me as I will be out of town and unable to respond. The owner has clear title. The VIN number on the title matches the VIN plate mounted on the tailgate. I could not locate the VIN stamped anywhere else on the truck. The truck is located in Masontown, WV, approximately 60 miles south of Pittsburgh, PA. This is a 76 year old truck and has no warrany, express or implied. The truck must be paid by cash or cashier,s check within seven days of the end of the auction. If paying by cashiers check, the truck will not be released until the bank confirms that the check has cleared. The truck is being offered with a low reserve.
