NO RESERVE... LAST BIDDER WINS!!! I'm acquiring another sports car very soon and as a result, I must sell this 1970 Corvette after a short ownership. It's a good driver and, with some more cosmetic restoration, could be a nice show car! My plan was to use it as a classic daily-driver but I found another rare car that I can't pass up! This 1970 Vette is not an NCRS level vehicle but the basics are there and it runs and drives great. WAY better condition than many of the "barn-find" corvettes selling for bigger $$$'s on eBay every day!!! This car has many options available on the LT-1 but I cannot verify with certainty whether or not this is an Original LT-1. If it isn't, it looks quite close! See the detailed description and high resolution pics below. Details & Specifications:1970 CorvetteLT-1 Options (see specifics in the "Condition" section below)350 C.I. THESE ARE YOUR BEST INDICATOR OF THE CAR'S CONDITION!!! As you can see in the photos, it's in "Driver" condition. NOT A SHOW CAR! It is missing the Trim Tag and I haven't found any other build information to verify if it's an original LT-1 car. It appears to have the correct 350 engine, correct LT-1 Hood with "LT-1" Decals but no stripes, and correct LT-1 finned aluminum valve covers (Air Cleaner and Intake Manifold are aftermarket). Radiator appears correct without a separate expansion tank, as was standard for LT-1. Dash Plaque denotes LT-1 specs: " 370 HP, 380 LBS. FT. Torque, 350 C.I., 11.00:1 Comp Ratio." This corvette appears to have very few factory options, including No Power Steering and No Power Brakes, which was also common for LT-1. However, it does NOT appear to have the correct Tachometer Redline (LT-1 Redline should be 6500RPM). IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT THAT THIS IS AN ORIGINAL LT-1 CAR, PLEASE ONLY BID WHAT YOU WOULD FOR A NON-ORIGINAL LT-1 (BASE) 1970 CORVETTE. Not trying to scam anyone here!!! Mechanicals:NUMBERS-MATCHING ENGINE! The prior owners rebuilt the cylinder heads so this Corvette runs well with unleaded premium. Engine does not smoke and holds a good idle at ~700RPM! I've experienced no oil leaks from the engine, transmission or differential. I had a tach-drive HEI distributor installed right after I bought it and drives well for a Holley-carbureted car ;) Fuel pressure gauge installed near the carb appears to be working currently but can be sporadic at times. Despite this, engine has always run well for me. Air Injection Pump and Smog Equipment are missing (no surprise there). Non-numbers-matching M-20 4 speed manual transmission shifts well in all of the forward gears. Takes a little more effort to shift into Reverse, which would probably improve with a shifter overhaul kit. Didn't bother me so I haven't gotten around to it. Prior owners also did a rear suspension overhaul and replaced the rear leaf-springs with a composite mono-leaf that works well. Front end could use an alignment as the steering wheel is a little off center. Otherwise, the front suspension and steering is in good condition and functions as expected from most 1970's cars. It's a manual steering and manual brakes car but steers and brakes very well with 4-wheel Discs in good condition. BF Goodrich Tires in great condition and plenty of tread left. Windshield Wiper and Headlight Systems (Vacuum & Mechanical) need some work to be fully operational again. Many (but not all) of the parts are there but some troubleshooting will be required. Headlights don't currently light up (that was to be my next project). They can be raised and lowered manually. The parking lights all work, as do the turn signals. Cosmetics (Exterior):Car was repainted to Red and interior color re-dyed to Black many years ago. Originally a Blue Exterior/Blue Interior car. The front end fiberglass has some small areas that would need repair prior to a repaint. Biggest of the spots that need repair is between the hood emblem and the passenger headlight door. There is a crack and indentation there. See my pictures of these areas. This is the main cosmetic issue with the car. Additionally, the current paint job has some fading and a number of small chips but shows relatively well from ~10ft, as you can see in the pictures. T-Tops latch/unlatch well and help maintain the suntan ;). Rear Window is removable and latch mechanism works. Weatherstripping is a bit worn and could use replacement at some point. The frame appears solid overall, but I've not had this car on a lift to check every nook and cranny. Cosmetics (Interior):Interior is in good condition but seats are non-original and from a 1969 Corvette, including only lap seat belts instead of the original shoulder belts. Passenger side headrest has two tears in the cover but otherwise the seats look good. Carpet is in reasonable condition. Rear compartment is missing the dome light fixture and latches for storage compartment doors. Door lock knobs need to be installed (I will include them) and door panels could use mild adjustment to make it all fit right. Radio is not original but it turns on ok. Only the passenger side speaker appears to be working. Car is equipped with Astro Ventilation. The Heat & Ventilation Switches don't appear to be functioning. Most gauges (including speedometer, tachometer, fuel level, battery meter, water temp and oil pressure) seem to work, except the Clock. Oil Pressure gauge is non-original style but works fine. Fiber-Optic light system is non-operational. Windshield Wiper Switches are currently non-operational. Headlight Switch lights up the parking lights but not the headlights themselves. Turn signal stalk controls the turn signals just fine. Both windshield wiper and headlight system will need troubleshooting and repair. Terms:I require a $500 deposit by Paypal within 24 hours of the auction ending. The balance is due within 10 days of the auction ending in the form of a Bank Cashier's Check, Personal Check or Cash. Funds must clear my bank account (if payment not in Cash) prior to car being released to buyer or their shipping agent. Clear Title is in hand. I will send title to new owner as soon as payment clears. Shipping arrangements and costs are the sole responsibility of the buyer. I will try to accommodate any shipping arrangements to the best of my ability. Inspections are welcome but must be done PRIOR to the auction ending. Remember, winning the auction means you won the car!!! Please only bid if you intend to follow through with the sale! If you are uncomfortable with winning and promptly paying for a car you haven't inspected personally, please make arrangements to see the car yourself or pay for a professional inspector/appraiser to view the car for you before the auction ends. I'd rather not sell the car and keep my positive feedback than have the new owner be dissatisfied with the sale. I have bought and sold a number of vehicles since becoming an eBay member in 2001. Over those years, I've learned that honest communication is key!!! I've done my best to accurately describe the car as it currently sits, but remember it is over 40 years old. There is no warranty expressed or implied. Finally, I reserve the right to end the auction early for a local sale. NO RESERVE... LAST BIDDER WINS!!! ***Thanks for Bidding***On Dec-29-13 at 06:15:19 PST, seller added the following information: With some more aggressive cleaning on the engine block pad next to the block vin numbers, I can make out the letters "CTD" which I believe indicates 350c.i./300hp 4spd model? As I have described thoroughly above, there are many other parts from the LT-1 model on this car. Thanks everyone for your questions and interest!!! The car will have a happy new owner soon...
