This R80 for sale was purchased from a elderly rider who bought the bike when it was 1 year old and had 1000 miles on it. I purchased it one and a half years ago and have been slowly getting it ready for the road since. Mostly just cosmetic stuff. Peg rubbers,clutch cable,choke cables,carb diaphragms,1 new petcock other rebuilt,tank rubber mounts,seat recovered by me (amateur at best),oil change and filter,air filter,replaced exhaust with used 2 into 1 from ebay, LED tailight w/turnsignals and trim up rear fender. Previous owner had a parking lot drop at low speed and that's why he sold it at 83 years old he figured it was time to quit. The rear seat cowl was cracked and I had that repaired and repainted. Tank and side covers are original paint and have defects but was buffed and looks decent. To finish and be road ready this bike needs some work -Fork seals installed I have them, charging light comes on while running that needs fixed, tires are old and need replaced and misc cleaning and paint touchup on frame and motor. Bike runs good and starts easily shifts well. For a 28 yr old bike it will be a nice one when finished but remember it is somewhat of a project bike and not ready for the road yet. I have not heard any knocks or noise that I think are a problem. As far as the mechanical issue question ( in the listing charging problem and fork seals ), I am not guaranteeing any part of the bike,other than the clear title. It is 28 years old and I have not put it on the road only test run it on the stand and shifted thru the gears in my garage, that is why I started it 299.00 w/ no reserve. Most people will understand with no road miles by me I cannot give a full description of condition just my 35 yr riding experience thinks it will be a great bike with some work by the new owner. - shooter1957
