Vehicle Detail
Please note I did not prepare or detail my car for picture taking, I simply decided to post it up for auction at the spur of the moment after seeing a 1966 similar to mine being auctioned. I purchased this car as a gift to my 16 year old daughter that recently started driving. She was super excited to help me work on it so she can start driving it till a close friend of mine gave me a great deal on a 2002 BMW Convertible so my sweetheart in a heart beat decided she wanted to have the BMW. So with that being said I will keep this as short and simple as possible. I purchased this 65 Rambler California car locally from the original owner in an estate sale in non running condition, the car had been parked under a carport in the driveway for 25 years with a non-op status. The 47112 miles on the car are original. The only thing on the car that is not original is the front seat that seems to have been reupholstered at some point in time. I insured and registered the car and had it towed home to prepare it for my daughter. The gas tank was removed, fuel lines were cleaned, spark plugs, wires, points, condenser, cap, rotor, hoses, thermostat, engine oil, transmission fluid and all filters were replaced. Radiator was sent out to get flushed and cleaned (rebuilt 3 core). All wheel bearings were greased and cleaned, Brake cylinder was replaced all brake shoes and springs including four shocks and tires all replaced. New battery installed All new parts installed. We took a video of the "first start". The car was never molested so it was and is a pleasure to work on cause everything is factory original. I have saved every original part that was replaced on the car. As far as the Super straight body, it was lightly hand sanded getting ready to be sent off for paint before I bought her the BMW. A few things I have not done yet... The transmission has a small leak from pan gasket (Have the new gasket and filter in the box ready to install). The dash port instrument cluster is in my opinion corroded in the back from sitting so long, the contacts need to be clean for the fuel and temperature gauge along with a couple lights to function. The muffler needs to be replaced. Seats need to be reupholstered. The body is Super straight, only one dent on passenger side rocker and one dent on rear bumper (please see pictures) There are two rust spots on the car that need attention (very repairable) The trunk and cowl (please see pictures) So in short I have a very straight and original 1965 AMC Rambler American 220 Coupe (base model) no factory A/C and no radio option with a 3.2L 196ci OHV (over head valve) straight 6, 3 speed flash-o-matic trans. The car runs and drives Beautifully and is very Dependable (can be driven anywhere). I will part with the car for a minimum of $4000 considering my daughter is happy with her convertible. Or I will be very happy completing it and driving it myself . Thank you and I am happy to answer all questions
