I have decided to sell my MZ Saxon Tour. The MZ is a German bike, sister to the BMW, and is considered a sport touring bike. I bought it a little over a year ago as a starter bike and just upgraded to an older, but bigger, BMW. This MZ is powered by an Austrian 500cc ROTAX motor. Very reliable, strong and impossible to kill. This motor is also used on airplanes! Just had the motor and carb tuned up before the cold set in. I do ride this bike all year round, so there is no long periods of sitting. New battery, new spark plug, new front brakes, and recent oil change. It is also equipped with an electric starter and a kick starter. The hand guards are aftermarket and will stay on the bike.The only real issues is some scratches and tiny chips in the paint, the rear turn signals have been glued (shown in the picture) due to breakage, and there is an area on the front fender where the tire wore through (currently taped up) due to the style of tire that was on the bike. Overall, for a 17 year old motorcycle, it is in excellent condition and turns heads!Yes, the odometer works and shows 12,373. These are all original and in kilometers. Translation is this original ROTAX motor has only 7,688 miles. The speedometer is also in kilometers, but has the miles per hour as well. Runs like a champ and not bad for an 18 year old bike. I've been getting roughly 53 miles per gallon and have been using it to commute from VA to DC. I've priced the bike at $2400, but there is some wiggle room. UPDATED INFORMATION!!!I am the third owner, if I remember correctly the second owner got it from his brother. When I bought the MZ it only had approximately 720 miles on it.
