Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1975 GMC Gentleman Jim Pickup Truck. This truck is 1 of 1000 made with the GMC Promotional Package Gentleman Jim Trucks built. It is hard to say how many of these trucks that are in operational condition and are currently on the road. Because of the low production number it is very rarely seen on the road today. The reason that GMC built the Gentleman Jim was too have a truck that could be considered luxurious and stylish rather than a teeth-rattling work machine. These trucks also came standard with automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, A/C, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, AM/FM/8 Track, and full gauge package. They were all long beds and had a gold painted front grille and gold painted rally wheels with chrome beauty rings. Truck also has brand new whitewall tires but are not the original BFG 60's that were originally on the truck. The Gentleman Jim distinctive decals are on each side of the bed, along with special exterior trim stripes. The chrome trim color on the Gentleman Jim model is the gold color instead of the standard black trim. The interior has rich vinyl saddle bucket seats, saddle with a center console, matching door panels with padded arm rests, and vinyl storage pouches. Door trim panels and dash are accented with simulated woodgrain along with steel scroll trim on the doors. The truck also came from the factory with sound suppression materials for a more quiet ride. Pictures will be attached showing most of the items that I have described plus other pics. I will also attach some original pics of the truck when I first got it a year plus ago. I bought an original mailer for the Gentleman Jim that the dealerships sent out as a pre mailer to prospective buyers to try and have them come into the dealerships to buy one of these trucks. I have attached a couple of pics of the mail out. The truck has had a new, recent paint job and has been repainted back to the original colors, black and gold. It is a good paint job and is a 10-12 footer. I tried to keep it as original as possible but I did use some after market parts as needed. The chrome trim has a mix of original and new trim. I replaced the pieces that were not very appealing. As mentioned above it has new tires along with the gold color coded wheels with chrome trim rings, GMC center caps attached with chrome lug nuts. The outside also has chrome front and rear bumpers, in real good condition except for the drivers rear that has a ding, but can be fixed. I believe that someone backed up just a little too much and hit something, see pic. There are some places where there are some minor dings, etc. Other additions to the outside are also new stainless steel splash shields on each wheel well, new stainless steel rock guards on the front of the rear wheels, new stainless steel tailgate protector, a new pair of stainless steel bed rail caps, and new stainless steel rain shields over each window, plus a new black front aerodynamic plastic bug shield. The blower motor works intermittenly, the A/C is hooked up but I have never tried it. The drivers side also has a NOS GMC Sierra Classic 15 emblem. There is also a cargo light for the rear bed that I have to look into. Currently the inside dome light and the cargo lights do not work. They did work at one time, I have to check the bulbs along with the drivers rear, I think it also needs a bulb. I will post an update on their condition, but I have to check the bulbs. I replaced all 6 of the lenses, the two rear that are red in color, the two front clear lenses, and the amber colored front side markers. All lights work on the truck as well as dim and bright head lights. This was a one year plus project. The interior has the original bucket seats are in great condition. The console is in very good condition but does show some wear. I had the center inserts in the seats redone. The carpet is in very good condition, the dash is cracked out but has a black dash mat covering it. The headliner is new. The bed is in very good condition and was also repainted. The glass has a slight factory tint and is in good condition, I would recommend new door window channels and glass run felt seals. The windows roll up and down. The FM radio works but I do not have an 8 track to see if this works. The engine compartment has been cleaned and looks nice. I did paint the undercarriage also. I will post status updates and more pics. If you have any questions please email and I will send you more pics, answer questions, etc. Thanks for checking out this rarity. I have alot of time and money invested in this truck and I know that I wont get back. My reserve is quite low, but fair. On Nov-27-13 at 20:14:12 PST, seller added the following information: The interior and cargo lights are now working as well as the drivers side rear lamp. The truck also has new new rubber seals on the doors and new hood side bumpers. The hood hinges are also new. The original jack, tire iron, and cranking rod are intact and bolted on the passengers side front wheel well under the hood. On Nov-28-13 at 15:40:22 PST, seller added the following information: I have attached a pic of the bed. Please notice that the cargo light is on and lit. The cowl seal is also new and the windshield wipers have been retrofitted with newer ones. I have the chrome blade holders that I will send with the new owner. I see that the low reserve has been met. I really hate to sell the truck but times are hard. In the past year I have have put less than 100 or so miles on the truck.
