Vehicle Detail
Selling a 1974 Honda CR 125 Elsinore. I am listing it as a parts bike because it does not currently run. If you are a fan of these bikes you already know that finding complete ones is getting extremely difficult. I was told by the previous owner that the motor was seized and then the bike was put into the corner of the garage an left there for quite a few years before I got to it. He thought it had a broken ring. The motor does turn but before it makes a full revolution it hangs up which leads me to believe he was correct about the ring. Personally I would redo the motor top to bottom. This bike is being sold as a restoration project. If you are mechanically inclined this is a bike worth putting the time and money into because once its finished it will be worth 4-6k. Its probably one of the most recognized and sough after vintage 125's. Hopefully the bike will go to someone who will restore it to its former glory. This is one of the bikes that started it all for the japanese MX market segment. Please fell free to contact me with any questions you have. I would be happy to answer them. Note to the buyers: whether you purchase this bike or another 74 always ask the seller for the frame and motor #'s to confirm that it is a true "1974" model. These are the most desirable Elsinore 125's and maybe the most sought after vintage 125 period. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - I have several Over sea's Shipping services that I can refer you to that will crate and ship to countries like Australia, New Zealand, UK as well as other country's in Europe if you require those services. FRAME #: CR125M 1018815 MOTOR #: CR125ME 1026205 Bike information: The kick starter on this bike I believe is from a 75 CR 125 but it works fine on this bike. Surface rust on the fork tubes (easier to just replace these. They pop up on ebay for under 40-65 dollars for the set) Surface rust frame (will cleanup with sand blasting). Frame is solid, no crushed tubes or welds an has the kick stand! Handlebars tweaked and there is some chrome pealing /pealed off close to where the handlebars mounts but they look good. Motor is not currently running and should be rebuilt. kill switch is broken Tires are dry rotted but they are the original Bridgestone tires Still has the original seat in good condition Rear fender is tweaked One of the middle fin's on the head is broken Front number plate is missing - However, I am including a front number plate mounting kit and cable guide. Clutch cover has a piece broken off where the clutch actuator seal goes. (see pic) --- (I was able to acquire a replacement cover which will come with the bike-see picture.) The tank has some rust inside but appears to be surface rust and should clean up nicely. Also a few dents (see pic) Rims are very nice. Most likely because the original tires are still in the bike. Some of the spokes are rusty though. Missing the left side number plate cover in the picture ( I have purchased an original left side cover with will come with the bike- see pic) Rear shock shafts have pitting and rust (replacement shocks pop up on ebay all the time) Air filter retainer is missing (reproductions available on ebay) Exhaust pipe is dented up pretty good on the bottom. Silencer looks near perfect SHIPPING: costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I dont mind holding the bike for a while once it is paid for. I realize it takes time to make shipping arrangements and I want to make this a stress free experience for the buyer. I do have a pretty good list of shippers I would be happy to pass on to you. I have one in particular that does North/South I-95 runs at a very reasonable price and occasionally he goes to TX, LA. PAYMENT: this auction requires a small non-refundable deposit with the balance due within 7 days of the auction ending (unless other arrangements were made between seller and buyer prior to purchasing). I will accept the balance of payment in the following ways-Bank transfer, cash in person, Bank of America cashiers check or USPS money orders. Thank you for looking.
