This rare barn find Classic Trans-Am has been hidden for public view for many years and is now being offered, it is in original unmolested condition and ready to restore to its pristine original condition or build that street rod that you have always dreamt about, don’t miss this one as they are getting harder to find. The car appears to be in original condition and completely rust free. Please review all the photos and ask any questions you like. Keep in mind this car is 28 years old and it is not new. Do you remember the classic Trans-Am’s of the 1960’s and 1970’s and how you regret not getting your hands on one before the prices went through the roof and now only the wealthy and collectors can afford them. As an investment, limited production Trans-Am’s will rise rapidly in value in the near future. Just like the previous generation of 1960’s and 1970’s classics Pontiac’s have done, soon these artfully crafted cars will become unavailable for most people. EXTERIOR: The exterior appears to be completely rust free and all original in unmolested condition including the paint and moldings, the factory alloys are in good to excellent condition, the T-Tops are in excellent condition without any cracks. There are bumps and bruises, please review all photos. INTERIOR: The original interior is worn with rips and tears on the seats, although it accents the exterior absolutely superbly. The dash and accents are in outstanding condition. The door panels and all the carpets including the trunk carpet and mat are well preserved. MECHANICAL: Mechanically, the car starts and idles, stays cool, has excellent oil pressure and does not smoke. THE ENGINE HAS A KNOCKING NOISE The automatic transmission, brakes and suspension feel just as good. The car is a true joy to drive. The car is very solid and stable on the road and the suspension and brakes bring this car through curves and to a full stop in no time flat. This car feels solid with no body flex. Without a doubt the Trans-Am is one of the most solid and secure American Sports cars ever produced. The Trans Am was a specialty package for the Firebird, typically upgrading handling, suspension, and horsepower, as well as minor appearance modifications such as exclusive hoods, spoilers, fog lights and wheels. In using the name Trans Am, a registered trademark, GM agreed to pay $5 per car sold to the SCCA. Comments: The 1985 Firebird featured a restyled nose, new taillights, and full rocker and quarter panel extensions on the Trans Am to give it a more aggressive appearance. The 5.0 liter V8 was now available with Tuned Port Injection (TPI) which allowed it to produce 205 bhp, although it could only be equipped with the four-speed automatic. A new WS6 suspension package was made available on the Trans Am, which also included 16-inch wheels with huge P245/50VR16 Goodyear "Gatorback" tires. In 1985, All Firebird models undergo redevelopment to boost sales.
