I have a nice blue 1989 Volvo 740GL Station Wagon with a good heritage. 1st year for GL label: leather, heated seats, sunroof. Selling on eBay at No Reserve because I want to drive a 1996 Saab 9000 Aero for a while. Heresy, right? Anyhow, I have the clear Texas title in hand, properly signed. Texas inspection is good through 04-14. This curbside classic just turned 25 with a build date of 9/88. NO RUST. Suspension is stiff, steering and braking is precise. Volvo's longest running engine, the "red block," is strong and the transmission shifts properly. A little vibration overall...may be a mount or rubber bushing...but runs quiet at both idle and at speed. No leaks, no smoke, no pets. Leather seat bottoms on front are worn and cracking but seat-backs are good. 6" tear in rear seat bottom 60% side behind driver. Dash has a couple of cracks but generally the instrument cluster and console are good. Original carpets front and rear are good, but faded and need a good detail. Door panels and thresholds are good, except drivers lower panel is broken and needs to be reattached. Locking glove-box. Center armrest is good. Headliner is clean. Interior and exterior lighting is good. Manual sunroof does not leak and is taped closed. All original car except left front fender replacement, painted black. Odometer stopped around a year ago. School teacher-owner continued to drive it until a few months ago. I bought it from her mechanic. Mileage is exempt. All glass is original Volvo, windshield has crack. Clean engine compartment and under-body. Belts are fresh, except no AC belt. Matching tires are nearly new. Spare and jack look never used. Central locking, radio/cassette, horn, power windows work properly. Heat works properly, AC does not, compressor seems frozen. Passenger vanity mirror lights up, and heated seats work. Exterior chrome and original paint is good, except hood and top is faded. A few dings and a couple of small dents. That's all I know, except that this Volvo should drive anywhere. It gives a good solid, safe feeling. It is not pristine and can be driven "as is" like I have done, or you can make it exceptional with some appearance $TLC. The rattan picnic case shown at the end (#23) of the 24 pictures is a part of this auction and goes with the Volvo.
