Vehicle Detail
This is an original 67 Chevelle Malibu Convertible. This is a good restoration project or very good parts car. The car is COMPLETE. The original 283 Motor does run and the car does drive, although because the brakes are very weak, I would not recommend driving it. There are no appearant fluid leaks from the engine or transmission even after sitting in my garage for about 9 months. The car does have rust issues on the floors, dash area, and on the frame side rails, and other areas as seen in the photos. I removed the carpet to show the rust in the photos. The frame would either have to be repaired or replaced because of the rust on the side rails. There is also rust under the header bar for the convertible top. I am told this is very common on these cars and replacements are available for around $300. The front and rear seats are original and in great shape with not a single tear. The convertible top and convertible frame are in great shape as well. The hydraulic motor also functions although the hydraulic lines seem to be blocked and need replaced. The car includes all the original chrome parts and other accessories. The windshield was removed because it was cracked, but the car comes with all the other original glass. The windows and regulators do function. as well. The car includes many other very good parts. Again, this car does require a complete frame off restoration, but for someone who has more time than I do. I also have the original license plate, hub caps in great shape, original spare tire, the original jack, and owners manual to go with the car. The 67 convertible is becoming more and more rare, so it would be great if someone can bring her back to life. The goods news is replacement parts are available in original and reproduction for this car, so for the right person, it would be a great project. The car originated in Michigan where it sat for many years through the 90's and this is the reason for the rust on the frame, floors, trunk, and dash area. If you have any questions or need more information, please feel free to contact me before the auction ends. There is nothing to hide in this car, it needs alot of TLC, but has life left for the right person who has the time and patience. Only Serious Bidders Please.
