Vehicle Detail

Car History: Car sat for years in a elderly gentlemen's yard in Arizona just waiting to be rescued. I finally purchased the car, replaced the flat tires to get it rolling, and trailered it back to El Paso. As with most southwestern cars, they are extremely solid and have very little rust. The roads here see little snow or salt so the condition reflects. Purchased with the intention of restoring but I just don't have the money to restore both my 74' Stingray and this car. The car runs and drives, but it should definitely be checked out before making long trips. With any car that sits for a long time, its best to do a thorough inspection beforehand. Body: Surface rust in various spots, with the only major rot/rust being on the driver's rear quarter and passenger front fender. Hood and doors close fine, but the truck is missing the key latch. Interior: Needs the most attention. Seats are torn and the seat bolts are loose. Car has no carpet or headliner, door panels need replacing as well. FLOORS LOOK SOLID! Engine: 327 cu in, starts and runs. Seems to be the original 327 but Im not sure. The only thing that seems to be out of place is the fact that someone changed the original manual tranny to an automatic. You can still see the clutch pedal in the car. If it were me, I would go back to the original manual setup or even go with an LS swap. As far as I can see, the carburetor is original and so are most of the other engine parts. Clearly the radiator and radiator support look new, but I think thats it. The water pump spits water from time to time and tranny has a periodic leak. No other leaks as I can see. The exhausts come right off of the headers, no mufflers. Suspension and Brakes: The rear shocks look fairly new and the front disks are solid as well as the rear drums. Like I said before, I replaced all the tires since the car had four flats. The back tires are brand new and the front are used but solid. Overall: This car makes an outstanding canvas for restoring. No need to hunt for expensive trim and various other parts, its mostly all here. I really wish I had the money to restore it but its best for someone who does. As you see the car, this is exactly how I found it, besides the tires of course. I am by no means a mechanic, so I have not fooled around with the car at all. I hate when people do that, so I don't do it. You are more than welcome to ask any questions, request additional info or pictures, and I will send a timely response. The car is available for viewing here in East El Paso if interested. On Nov-16-13 at 15:52:33 PST, seller added the following information: Additional Information About the Vehicle: There are TWO minor (at least to me) things I would like to mention about the car before the auction ends. This will help avoid any surprises! 1. Vehicle Title: Since I only had the previous owners' Arizona title, I felt it was best to get the vehicle put in my name. So yesterday, I went to the DMV to do just that. It will take approximately 3 weeks for me to receive the new Texas title, but as soon as I do, I will overnight it to the new owner. I have included the application receipt in the photo update to help verify this transaction. 2. Hole in Floor Pan by Shifter: Also in the photo update, you will see a picture of a 4X4 inch hole where the previous owner had the automatic transmission put in. Someone definitely went about it the cheap route and this not so clean hole is a reflection of it. As I looked through the photos and description again, I noticed my initial failure to mention this. Again, these two things may seem minor to some or major to others, but I truly like to be as descriptive and honest as possible. Please don't hesitate to request any additional info or photos.
