If I were buying this vehicle, this is what I would want to know. The last 25 years it was owned by one family in our Lawrence, Ks, area. Within that time it was driven, then restored, then driven again. I recently purchased it for resale but wanted to experience my first Volvo and make it better. I replaced the clutch master cylinder, tuned the motor with new plugs, wires, points, set the valves, new front shocks, new differential seal, new shifter boot and shifter knob. I added seat covers, replaced the dash pad, redid the brakes front and rear, got the emergency brake working, repaired the driver's window mechanism, new window crank, added front mud flaps and more. The paint is darn good, possibly 10 years old or so and done by a good local shop in the original color if not slightly darker. I painted the wheels dark blue and love the look. All five tires are matching and in good condition including the spare where you will find the original tire tools. The car drives very well. The motor is excellent, now with plenty of power, very smooth and it doesn't burn oil. The transmission shifts like butter with excellent synchronizers in all gears, and no noise from it or the rear end. The muffler is good and quiet. Nothing more is required to drive and enjoy the car, but I will continue with my analysis of the negative. The speedometer does not work" And when you go in reverse, the red speed indicator show itself so it is hooked up and the odometer works and is correct. All other gauges work, turn signals and lights. It is nearly rust free. Really! Nearly...as there are two small breaks in the floorboard that I am not sure needs to be addressed. The doors open and close like bank vaults, and the hood and tail gates operate like new. The seats are from a later Volvo and are fully adjustable, but not original. The am/fm radio does not work and in looking it over I discovered an older security system in place All receipts come with the car. The title is in my name and clear.
