Up for sale is an absolutely stunning all original 1968 Dodge Charger R/T with a 5 numbers matching S--code 440 Magnum V8. Arguably one of the most beautiful and quintessential American muscle cars, the ‘68 Charger’s coke bottle profile conjures thoughts of high speed runs on high banked Stock Car circuits. This two owner California built and stored R/T, was loaded from the factory with every power option available. From power steering and power disc brakes, to power windows, power trunk and even power antenna, these cutting edge options were not cheap in 1968. Rounding off the factory luxuries is a rear defroster and the timeless Tic-Toc Tach. Besides the perfectly stanced set of wheels and tires and the body in primer, this Charger really is as it was when it rolled off the LA assembly line. The entire drive train including the 7.2L 440 cubic inch Magnum V8 4bbl and 3 speed automatic transmission is numbers matching, and the interior is complete and every dial and knob works as it should. The stunning 5 spoke chrome wheels are a set of Intro Custom Wheels in a huge 19x9 up front, and a gargantuan 20x12 in the rear. Poking through the spokes are an equally impressive set of Wilwood drilled rotors and calipers bolted to the original disc brake spec spindles. Helping stop the heavy big block car are 6 pot calipers in the front and a more moderate 4 pot for the rears. With the low-profile rubber and new brakes, handling is taken care of by Magnum Force adjustable A-arms, and Viking double adjustable shocks if you want to fine tune compression and rebound. In the back a new set of leaf springs and lowering blocks set the ride height for that perfect pro-touring look. If the new shoes aren’t your thing, this gorgeous ‘68 Charger comes with absolutely every original part needed to bring it back to stock including the original dealer build sheet. From the original window trim and body moldings to all the original brake and suspension components, the only non original part is the air cleaner, and the only thing missing is the spare tire/jack stand. That being said, the only other issue is that the AC unit and compressor may need to be rebuilt. The body has a single coat of black primer over bare metal, and the whole car is exceptionally straight and rust free with all sheet metal being original and undamaged. With only one year in production with these iconic tail lights, short of a Hemi, the 1968 Charger is considered by many to be the holy grail of dodge R/T cars.
