Vehicle Detail

70 LT-1 Corvette. This is a driver. All numbers matching. New front coil springs, rebuilt front calipers, new front pads, new shocks, New starter, New tires (less than 500 miles), New mufflers. The following is the history of the car as I know it, along with the condition to the best of my knowledge. I am giving the good and the bad. It is 43 years old after all. I am trying to be as up front as possible. This car came from Virginia to California about 17 years ago. The car sat for 11 years after the move to Ca. Over the last 3 years the car has been driven on weekends during good weather. The car runs well (motor, tranny, rear end, brakes, etc.). The compression is good, up to factory specs when checked 2 years ago. The outer ring on the harmonic balancer has spun, so the timing mark is off. I don't know if the motor was ever out, if it was it was along time ago. It still has the solid lifters and the cam sounds correct, nice lope at idle. With 11.00:1 compression you must run 100+ octane otherwise it detonates under load. 112 Sunoco worked well. The car still has TI. The car has PB and the front calipers were rebuilt to factory specs. The frame has surface rust but is solid, no issues near the arches. The rear trailing arm pockets are also solid with no cancer observed, surface rust only. The car was painted at some in the past not sure when but 20+ years ago. It still looks ok 10' out but does have chips here and there and the spider webs on the front fenders as is common. When the drivers side coil spring collapsed, it tore a strip of fiberglass at the top of the wheel arch when the tire hit it. Its not bad just want to disclose it. The chrome is 43 years old and although not great it is not pitted. The radio is AM/FM and works. The electric windows work, the drivers side window has to be helped up and down due to an issue with the regulator. The car has fiber optics and per normal some work. The temp gauge is not working. The car has headers, no air pump (obviously). Lights work as well as blinkers etc. Wiper door works, wipers do not. The speedo shows 105,000 miles but the speedo only works intermittently. No paperwork, i.e protecto plate, build sheet. There is a tank sticker visible to the left side of the filler neck. It is there but I'm not going to try and get it out. The interior is good for 43 years there are no tears. The drivers side seat of course shows the most wear. For some reason there are no backs on the seats. The car comes with some additional resto parts, mostly trim screws and 4 of OEM "coolie hat" wheel covers. I have the OEM air cleaner top also. The oil dip stick tube is broken and I do have a replacement. For those that are interested, Engine: 70S411937/V0603CTK, Block date: E290, casting#3970010, Intake Manifold: 3912116 Tranny code: POE21B (VIN matches), Paint: 972, Trim: 403(BLK Leather), Heads: 3927186 E250. I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells locally. Obviously there are no warranties implied or given on this car. It is sold as is where is.
