Vehicle Detail
FIRST....the SINGLE most EXCITING bit of info about this awesome vintage 1978 Corvette.... It's a VERIFIED FACTORY "L-82" PACKAGE CORVETTE!!! NOT an "L82 Clone"...... (Be VERY careful of the many con men who get the "L-82" emblems for the hood and stick them on.....it happens a LOT! DO NOT let yourself be fooled by one of those shysters! As you already know, a TRUE L82 Corvette is worth THOUSANDS more than the standard L48 model, so unscrupulous sellers have a lot of incentive to try to fool unsuspecting buyers with this trick!) THIS is a GENUINE 1978 Factory Built L82 Corvette...........THIS IS "THE REAL DEAL"!!!! You're looking at a 1978 Silver Anniversary (NOT the "Anniversary Package", it has the Silver Anniversary badges all the '78's had), Corvette T-Top L-82 Coupe that has had a BEAUTIFUL restoration done a few years ago and now looks and drives almost like new! It has been re-painted to the ORIGINAL and EXTREMELY RARE FACTORY COLOR, "Light Beige", (with the beautiful matching Light Beige interior)and is really nice, glossy, and clean, but most important matches the color code for the car exactly. The color is VERY rare! In fact, it is second to the most rare color of all for 1978, which was yellow. Why own another red or white or other commonplace color when you can stand out from the crowd with one hardly EVER seen??By the way, I took pictures in different lighting....sunny, cloudy, etc, to try to capture the true color, since it's likely you've never seen one in person! The interior looks all original but does NOT need to be re-done, because the seats look just like a car with a nice restoration SHOULD look, clean and with no rips or tears anywhere. The car has a new battery, water pump, hoses, and belts, and the engine runs as smooth as silk, just as a professionally maintained motor should. No hard starting or smoking or hesitation at all. The automatic transmission shifts just as it should too. The factory original rims are equipped with a new matching set of raised white letter 70 Series GOODYEAR EAGLE GT tires as they would have been when first delivered to it's proud new owner back in '78....no el cheapo tires on this beautiful example of one of the most desirable Corvettes of the late 70's C-3 series! This is an extremely well equipped car, with Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Tilt/Telescopic Steering Wheel, working Power Antenna, rear window Privacy Shield to protect your valuables from prying eyes, but best of all, it's a FACTORY AIR-CONDITIONED L-82, and the motor is NOT modified or abused and all the parts for the air conditioning system are STILL IN PLACE, very very rare for these cars! Most didn't have AC to begin with and most that did have lost the AC systems out of their engine bay long ago. Finding a car with FACTORY AIR in original un-molested condition like this is nothing short of FANTASTIC, as any Corvette enthusiast will know. OK. . .. . .now the "bad". . ... The car does NOT have the original Delco radio, it's a newer aftermarket brand. And of course, like most classic C-3's, the headlights go up and down slowly, so if you're not a patient person who's willing to wait for them you'll want to fix that. (This is probably the single most common issue with these old Corvettes, and while I wish this was the exception, its not. But they DO work, they DO go up and down, just not "instantly" as they MIGHT have when new. Not sure if these EVER really worked all that fast!) The A/C does not seem to be blowing cold so it might need a re-charge, I don't know. It's far more important that the car HAS factory AC and that the system is in fact all there. It also has the original factory security alarm system still in place, but the hood trigger for the system is disconnected and I don't know how to reconnect it, so the system hasn't been tested. I'll leave that for you, if you even care about it.Could there be other things I've missed? OF COURSE! It's an OLD CAR! And I am NOT an expert at ANYTHING! (Just ask my wife!)But I have described it as best and as honestly as I can, and I WELCOME you to come personally look at it before you bid! I am asking a very,VERY reasonable price (Email me for a "Buy It Now" discussion) for this nicely restored (not "over-done" or ruined with some stupid non-factory color or an attempt to make it into a "pace car clone" as some owners have tried to do with their 1978 Vettes) un-molested survivor, considering you will NOT have to do all the usual interior and exterior restoration 99% of these old StingRays need! I will also consider TRADES of ALL KINDS! Can be another car but does NOT have to be!! It can be a car, a truck, a motorcycle, a boat, or any other vehicle, but it doesn't have to be a vehicle at all!!! A few months ago I traded a Vette for a Rolex watch, and I wouldn't mind doing that again! The point is, I am open to ANYTHING of equal value, so don't hesitate to contact me with a DETAILED PROPOSAL WITH PICS and I'll get right back to you! I foresee this Corvette going to an experienced Vette enthusiast who knows what he's looking at and understands the value of a car this clean, well maintained, and ready to enjoy, and what it would cost (thousands and thousands, that's how much!) to get some "bargain" Corvette to THIS level. Anyone who has ever restored a classic car before will quickly see this is the STEAL OF A LIFETIME!ESPECIALLY if you're an enthusiast who "gets" the importance of finding such a rare color combo AND with the L82 package to go with it! OK. . ...let's hear your proposals! If you have a TRADE proposal, make it REALISTIC with LOTS of details as to what you have, like I gave you here. LOTS of pics too! I really can't consider an offer if I have no idea what you're offering me! I look forward to hearing from you! PLEASE KEEP SOMETHING IN MIND...... I don't think this auction will make it till the end.....BUT IF IT DOES..... THIS IS A "NO RESERVE" AUCTION! That means the High Bidder OWNS it at the end of the auction if it does last that long! You are WELCOME to come see it BEFORE you bid!I have NO DOUBT if you do you will indeed bid fast and hard! PLEASE....ask ANY questions BEFORE you bid!I will get right back to you with an honest answer! But once the auctions is over you OWN it and I won't negotiate the final price, ok?I will ONLY accept CASH as payment, whether you live 5 miles away or 5 thousand, so PLEASE bid accordingly. I'll expect payment in full within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Please ask questions, or come see the car, and please honor the sale.Fair enough? BEST OF LUCK and THANKS FOR LOOKING!
