Vehicle Detail
I originally bought this car for my daughter with the intention of teaching her how to drive a 5-speed. She determined that the manual transmission is not for her and I purchased a similar automatic transmission car for her. In the meantime I have been using this car as my daily driver. I have about a 90 mile roundtrip drive to work every day and enjoy driving this car. The bad: Car was sideswiped on the passenger side which dented the passenger side front fender (see pictures). It also knocked off the passenger side mirrior. The good news is it doesn't affect the driveability of the car at all. Doesn't affect the headlight or blinker as these all work correctly. The car has a tendency to 'pop' out of first gear when starting from a dead stop. Doesn't do it every time but I would say about 50% of the time. This is more annoying than anything else. Second gear is geared low enough that it is not a problem to start out in second gear (even going uphill) to avoid the chance of the car popping out of first gear. Passenger front seat could use a good shampooing as it looks pretty dirty. Knob on gear shift is loose. Windshield has a crack in it. Driver side window is not operating. Paint has some fading and a couple of scratches as would be expected with a car this age. Check engine light comes on occasionally while driving but goes off in a few seconds or a couple of minutes. No noticeable change in the drivability of the car when this happens and seems to be random and have no effect on the car's performance. The good: Engine feels strong and peppy. Clutch feels good. Shifts effortlessly and efficiently through all gears. Fun to drive. No shaking or vibrations. Car does not pull to either side. I frequently get the car up to 80 mph on the freeway and car performs very well. Interior is in better than average condition for a car this age. Door panels are in excellent shape and not loose at all and there are no loose speakers or parts. Tires look to have a good bit of tread on them with no uneven wear. A/C works and blows cold. Car has factory radio/cassette with 6-CD changer in the back. Car gets great gas mileage. Car has tinted windows. I have tried to describe the car to the best of my ability. Feel free to come test drive it if you live close enough. Mileage may change slightly as car may driven before auction ends. If you are out of town I could meet you at the Columbia, SC airport or the Augusta, GA airport if you'd like to fly in and drive it home. Please do not bid if you do not have the funds to pay. The time to ask questions is BEFORE bidding and I encourage you to ask questions. Thanks and good luck bidding.
