Vehicle Detail
Up for Auction is this 1965 Corvair Corsa, it has 69k original miles on it, and I am the third owner of this car with the original build sheet of the car, this car is an all numbers matching car. The car is solid although the paint was in bad condition when I bought it so I had it repainted with PPG base coat/ clear coat; it looks very appealing to the eye and usually comes in 1st or 2nd place at the shows I bring it to up in Northern MN. The car has the V-6 with the factory turbo, hi performance handling kit, 4 speed manual transmission. The car runs like a dream, is quiet, and just goes down the road like it was new in 1965. The body is very solid, the underside just for cosmetics was undercoated, I have both before and after pictures of the underside as well, nothing hidden on this car, she is truly one of a kind. I brought it to Cambridge MN to a Corvair specialist just to make sure all was well with the engine and car in general, not that I had to trailer it but I did in lack of having an extra driver, the car was getting thumbs up even on the trailer, it is a true original. I wanted it checked out before putting it on Ebay just to make sure all was well with it. This car has also recently made at least three trips from Duluth to Minneapolis (350+ mile trip) on its own going to the annual GM show since I have owned it from 2002 to now. Basically I would take it anywhere is what I am getting at. Couple defects I want to mention are: The panel by the wipers, not the hood had a couple swelling cracks bleed though the new paint, this is the only paint issue I had, you have to be standing on top of it to see it, but it is there, otherwise the car is mint and shines. The Corvair specialist in Cambridge mentioned to me that the interior might be a year off but wasn’t sure, and I truly don’t know either, so please look at the pictures closely, maybe you will teach me something Also, as you can tell, these are not the factory wheels, but they looked right on the car so I left them on it. Please contact me with any questions, message me a good number or email and I will promptly get back to you with whatever I can answer for you. Shipping: I may work with you on shipping, please message me and I will see what we can do to maybe help out or meet partial way. Thanks for looking, and happy bidding all!! On Oct-15-13 at 15:01:27 PDT, seller added the following information: All, I just wanted to add that I have decided to take care of the paint issue I mentioned under defects, this car seems to getting so much attention that I want it to be as close to perfect as possible, so I have the same body shop that painted it re doing the area I was talking about. Also, I have been informed by many people that reviewed this car that the interior is 1966, a lot of folks think of it as an upgrade and a complement to the car. I also added a couple of underside shots as well. Thanks all for looking, happy bidding On Oct-15-13 at 17:39:42 PDT, seller added the following information: One more correction as well the car has the Flat (opposing) six engine. I have been corrected on this a couple times, so thanks for the knowledge all. I also added a picture of the rear of the car, I missed that earlier. Thanks
